@marjon I’ve tried being passive, not performing the Oh Lovely! reaction when someone says they’ve booked a flight to their newest city break. Lately, like yourself, seeing how badly it's going, I’ve tried working into the conversation that I only fly when it's to family on islands, and then only on whatever leg of the trip requires a plane. I mention that I’d love to do #NoFly, but for family reasons, I can only do #NoFrivolousFly until I have time for long, multi-leg train trips across seas.

Die ach so christlichen #cducsu waren für mich noch nie wählbar, zu keinem Zeitpunkt.
Die #SPD ist auf dem besten Weg, die 5 % Hürde verdient zu unterschreiben.
Um #fckafd Politik zu bekommen, werden die, die das wirklich wollen, das Original wählen, die bedanken sich höchstens bei der aktuellen Regierung für die Umsetzung ihrer menschenverachtenden Politik.

New job, new film, new book...Merci Olivier Monod @libe Liberation for summarising my 2025 so far!
Indeed I accepted a job offer @ Masaryk University in Czechia. They have a programme on regional peripheries that seems perfect to continue my research on the effects of climate change & market integration on indigenous communities in Papua New Guinea (PNG) (among my other research on social cohesion).

The film "The Researcher" by @produzionifuorifuoco has already been screened in 13 different countries around the world and recently won the award for "Best Educational Pathway Film" @ International Frome Climate Film Festival.

Finally, my book "A fuoco" (Zooming in) has just been published by @feltrinelli_. It’s the diary of my 28,000 km #NoFly journey from PNG to Europe to reduce my carbon footprint.

Many people ask me if losing my job was "worthwhile". These outcomes would make one feel that it was. But, honestly, I would have done the same even if no one had talked about my story and I hadn't "achieved" anything. For me, the important thing was to remain true to my "climate conscience". I couldn't have done otherwise.

Any ideas how to get from the #Berlin area to #Riga, Latvia, without taking a #plane?

I couldn't find a #train connection, and the busses I found take nearly 24 hours. I'm happy to #SlowTravel, including overnight stopovers, but I do need a proper bed / sleeper train at night.

I'm considering driving by car, but maybe there is a #PublicTransport connection that I missed?
