I visited a popular #OpenSource documentation site this morning, and the glare almost blinded me.
Folk, in this day and age, if you run a website, there is NO EXCUSE for not implementing `@media: prefers-color-scheme(dark)`
But, I thought, this is open source! I can submit a pull request to fix this!

Yesterday we joined a local manifestation remembering women killed this year by males, typically by their partners or sons. I learnt every third woman suffers violence in her lifetime. This greatly troubled me as a father of a girl...

Updated 3:39 PM EST, January 31, 2025ATLANTA (AP) — "Atlanta leaders are reconsidering how they dismantle homeless camps after a man was crushed inside a tent as a bulldozer destroyed makeshift homes in preparation for Martin Luther King Jr. holiday events.
"Cornelius Taylor was living in the camp a few blocks from Ebenezer Baptist Church, the King family’s congregation, where dignitaries gather for each year’s commemorative service. A march was held from downtown to the church that same weekend.
"Now, Taylor’s family is planning a Monday funeral at the same historic church, and then a horse-drawn carriage will carry his coffin to City Hall so that people there 'can see who they killed,' said his sister, Darlene Chaney.
"The U.S. Supreme Court [#SCOTUS] ruled last year that cities across the country can enforce bans on homeless camping. But clearing the camps — as #NewOrleans did ahead of Taylor Swift’s concerts there — remains controversial."

Dziś w Międzynarodowy Dzień Praw Człowieka kończy się ogólnoświatowa kampania „16 dni akcji przeciw przemocy ze względu na płeć”.
Brak dostępu do aborcji to przemoc i dyskryminacja ze względu na płeć. Oznacza to, że łamane są nasze podstawowe prawa. Ponad połowie społeczeństwa, odmawia się prawa do bezpieczeństwa i życia bez przemocy.
Zmuszanie kogokolwiek do kontynuowania ciąży jest przemocą. To narażanie naszego zdrowia, życia i przyszłości.
Aborcja musi być dostępna - tak wcześnie jak to możliwe i tak późno jak to potrzebne. Zawsze i dla każdej osoby. W poczuciu bezpieczeństwa. Bez barier i utrudnień.
Szkoda, że politycy i polityczki, którzy tak chętnie się z tej okazji wypowiadają o przemocy wobec kobiet, jednocześnie aktywnie odbierają nam sprawczość, kontrolę nad własnym ciałem, zdrowiem i życiem.
