  1. A #Thursday #eagle watch report, finds a 28F morning with no precipitation and no winds. It is 6AM nest-time, and the IR camera is still showing its black-and-white view of the nest and gorgeous setting.

Currently, the 3 eggs are unattended. The female has stopped incubating completely, and has been attempting to coax the male away. He has spent 5 successive nights on the nest, and seems "disinclined to acquiesce" to her request.

  2. Good #Saturday morning to your from #Eagle watch. At 5:30AM nest-time it's quite cold at 7F without wind, and no more snow forecast for a time. It is still dark, so the IR camera is showing us the view.

Jackie was up early, calling out to Shadow and then leaving the nest. He arrived within a few seconds to take his place on the nest.

Yesterday the male was on the nest for 11.5 hours, his longest time of the season. Perhaps things are changing for the adult birds...

Check later, the color camera will kick in soon, and the view is spectacular

  3. #Eagle watch shows Jackie still incubating on her nest, surrounded in a donut of snow this morning at about 5AM nest-time.

The organization has said that while a female might lay a second clutch if one is lost in the first couple of weeks, after all this time it is extremely unlikely.

They have also said that there's no way of telling how long the parents will continue to sit on the eggs. It is hard to watch.
