whilst offline yesterday for #nodataday i was reading You Took the Last Bus Home by Brian Bilston
and this poem about twitter going down seemed very apt -
#nodataday yesterday went just fine!
(I think it was surprisingly easy, and am ready for the next one! But then, I'm old enough to have experienced life before the internet. I never have wanted a digital calendar and I do have books, dvds, etc)
What I did was:
-gardening (not being able to google plants' needs was a bit hard, luckily I had books)
-some planning (computer but offline)
-some chores like grocery shopping (with cash)
-a trip outdoors (barbecue with friends)Join me next time?

Ending my no data a tiny bit early.
Zero produced in the last 22:30 h.
Maybe except a save file that will get uploaded to Steam cloud. It rarely succeeds, but it most likely will at least once before I uninstall that one.

Remember that your phone operator is collecting shitton of data as well (airplane mode) and that many apps store your info when offline and upload it later.
Lucky for me, Lichess' offline mode does not do that and my phone is de-googled.

Have it last Friday of the month, share a bunch of images/assets on the Thursday night before - go dark for the day. Like a little 'lights off' gif to post on IG, FB, Bluesky and Masto (no data, even for the scrapers, browsers and ISPs)
