Decentralized browser-based P2P E2EE messaging.

The key detail that sets this apart from other messaging apps is the browser-based client-side cryptography philosophy.

No need to install anything. Your ID is crypto-random and so the app doesnt need to rely on any central registration system like phone numbers. Your ID is unguessable and to connect to someone, you have to explicitly share it.

WebRTC has other nuances like being to route through a shared network for secure/faster transfer.

I hope this project has reached a level i can share the following details. I've made a genuine effort towards documentation and transparancy. I dont think it'll ever be enough and so im still concerned it isnt ready to share. While im using AI throughout. This is not a vibecoded project. There is attention throughout for unit tests and formal-verification. With your feedback, id like to make improvements for clarity throughout.

I just finished the first version of a small software for managing the balcony solar plant of some family members. It works completely without any cloud or any other people's computers or even an internet connection.

There's three panels and an inverter with a battery. Any power initially is used in the household, then if anything is left it's put into the battery for later use, or if the battery is full, fed it into the public grid (to get a small financial compensation). Or if you want to, you can override that and just charge the battery, or even charge it from the grid.

Of course the inverter originally needs a cloud connection and comes with an app that needs a cloud connection and obviously is described as AI-powered very smart whatever. But there is a documented API for getting and setting some values! Interoperability! Without the cloud, there's hardly any logic built in. So I had to create it myself.

It's just a few HTTP requests, json, a SQLite database, and some very basic HTML.

Today I used my custom IoT build to scan the air quality at the office and on the commute back

Turns out both locations seem to have better ventilation and air filtering than I would have thought, but I’d need to scan for longer periods of time to be sure

The train did have a buildup up until we started moving, which makes sense given what I know of their systems being mostly useless until the train leaves the station

I’ll probably need to think of a battery and data storage system to simplify scanning on the go like this, but I’m already satisfied that my little thing could be used so easily in this way

I just booted up a random laptop, plugged the USB and ran a serial console client (in this case PuTTY); no code changes at all, the same code and config that I use at home in a mesh
