Wait, what? May is almost done? This means another month where I got a budget is coming up. I have no real plans yet. Maybe... Ink? Or maybe not? I have some on my private wishlist, but... Do I want them enough

Whoa, I can feel the urge to buy something nice building, to compensate for the stressful developments. Like, I can feel it in my body. Not pleasant. Good thing I'm on a #noBuy! #noBuyYear

I think I broke or at least bent the rules of my no-buy yesterday. I was trying to get over minimum order value at an online shop and thought "okay, I'm actually using my Din A5 notebooks, I can get some of those maybe."
It's true, my current notebook is almost full. But I still have two unused ones. And it'll be months until I am done with those.
I think I'll handle it as if I overspent my budget by 10 € and cut my next budget accordingly. But I'm really angry with myself for slipping.
Otoh - it's interesting that it happened right when I was spending my budget. Seems there's something I can learn from this.

Okay, my #noBuy is in full swing, and now it's officially the end of March. Through my rules I am allowed to spend some money now for things I want.
And today, I did! After long consideration, I purchased a pair of jeans and a linen dress shirt. Both very classic, both very black. I've enjoyed wearing all black lately, and I have no black dress shirt somehow? And I could use an additional black jeans to change into. I'm wearing a blue one rn and feel weird in it.
I still have some of my budget left after this. Not sure what to do with that. Maybe invest in ink? Hm. I'll take my time with that decision.

Sooo, how is my #NoBuyYear going? It's going pretty chill! I bought nothing yet but some replacement stuff and things I need for health reasons. Like earplugs. And some mild stuff for my skin that doesn't break me out.
And I sadly smashed my beloved hand mirror a few weeks back. Replacement is on its way, but I really liked the old one. Wish I could have mended it, but it was not possible.

But now it's March. And in March, I may spend some money if I want to, I put that in my rules. And I kind of want to, but kind of don't? I'd like to add another fountain pen to my collection but - do I really need it? I have 4 in active use, and 4 are currently just chilling out, empty and clean. Do I really need another one?
And maybe... A bottle of ink? But - I already have so much ink?
So... Maybe nothing? Ah, it's tough. #NoBuy

This was weird. So I ordered the ink vials - and nothing else. And then I ordered the bathing suit - and nothing else. Usually, I take time to browse and look for things I could use.
It's weird to break with that habit. Fells strange. But also... good? Maybe? I mean, I can't buy anything I don't strictly need at the moment, so browsing just doesn't make much sense.

I would have done so on December, but they were out of stock.

Also, I finally gave up. Our little one just won't get a spot for a swimming class. We've tried to get one for years now. It's a desaster.
So we as parents have to teach them. But I only own skimpy old bathing clothes that make me feel very awkward. So I'll go and hunt for one that I'll actually like to wear.

So, how's my #noBuyYear going so far? It's going well. I lost all my interest in watching makeup news. I look longingly at ink swatches from time to time. And I can already feel that I might want to look at clothes when the temperatures rise again.
That's okay. It's important to take note and learn what I want, and why.
And as for inks and clothes: I have those in abundance. Buying new stuff means using the new stuff first. Not feeling the need to confront myself with all the stuff I already own. It's weird, but it's a simplification I sometimes crave. Interesting to note. Shameful, but interesting.

Basically it says I won't buy stuff apart from food, health and hygiene and stuff for others. But! I'll make 4 exceptions and allow myself to buy things. Because I want to learn how I spend my money if I am allowed to. I have had problems in the past with sticking to a budget, and I want to know why and how I could improve on this.

I have managed to lose the last of my round tipped darning needles. Of course I have masses of sharp pointed ones.

I looked everywhere (I could think of) and none were found.
so I'm going to go for a walk to the fabric store to get myself a few darning needles. and I'll designate a spot for them!

my #nobuyyear is not on my mind any more, I have to admit. but yesterday it was. I'm going through some stressful and emotional times right now, and buying myself a little goodie used to be something I comforted myself with.

yesterday I needed to go to the post office and I went into a store and got a fountain pen for 20€.

i misplaced my Lamy safari pen and can't find it any more since months. this one is clear plastic and has an extra fine tip <3

today I had a stressful day and was also frustrated and I found myself thinking for 1 moment: is there something that I could buy as "retail therapy"? but I have been "off the drug" for long enough that it was just a passing thought.

I just cut up the veggies for the next #kimchi and I'm still decluttering so that's satisfying enough for me!
