Letzter veganer Brunch bei off.Kultur am 2. August!
Am Sonntag den 02.08.2026 findet der letzte vegane Brunch in den Räumen von off.Kultur e.V. in Offenburg statt. off.Kultur muss im Rahmen der Bahnhof-Schlachthof-Sanierung die Räume verlassen und somit auch wir. Wieder mal wissen wir nicht, wie es weiter gehen wird, hoffen aber, dass wir bald ein neues Exil finden. Kontaktaufnahmen haben schon stattgefunden und wir sind genauso gespannt wie ihr. Stay tuned!
Es gibt viele vegane süße und herzhafte Leckereien, die wir alle – auch ihr – beisteuern. Zusätzlich gibt’s zur „Feier“ der Tages für alle Sekt (mit und ohne Alkohol).
Gerne könnt ihr euch auch am Aufbau (ab 10:30 Uhr) und am Abbau (ca. 13:00 Uhr) beteiligen.Wer sich organisatorisch beim Brunch einbringen möchte, kann sich unter [email protected] melden oder uns beim Brunch ansprechen. Wir freuen uns immer über Leute, die mit anpacken.
Wer wie wir die Bezahlkarte für Geflüchtete ablehnt und sie als Schikane empfindet, kann bei uns für jeweils 50 € Gutscheine von DM, Lidl und Aldi bekommen. Das Bargeld erhalten dann Geflüchtete, die damit selbstbestimmt einkaufen können.

Am Sonntag den 05.07.2026 findet der 2. vegane Soli-Brunch für Ciocia Basia Berlin in den Räumen von off.Kultur e.V. in Offenburg statt.
Es gibt viele vegane süße und herzhafte Leckereien, die wir alle – auch ihr – beisteuern. Gerne könnt ihr euch auch am Aufbau (ab 10:30 Uhr) und am Abbau (ca. 13:00 Uhr) beteiligen.

Wer in Polen eine Abtreibung braucht, steht erst mal schlecht da – sie ist dort faktisch verboten. In Berlin hat sich 2014 die Gruppe Ciocia Basia Berlin gegründet mit dem Ziel, Frauen aus Polen dabei zu unterstützen, in Deutschland einen Schwangerschaftsabbruch durchführen zu lassen. Dabei gibt es viele Hürden, angefangen bei der Sprache, bei der Unterkunft und bei der Organisation überhaupt. Mit diesem und dem Brunch im Juli wollen wir diese Arbeit unterstützen. Mehr Informationen gibt es unter https://www.ciociabasia.org/, die Texte sind dort allerdings auf englisch oder polnisch, eine (teilweise) deutsche Übersetzung findet ihr auf den beim Brunch ausliegenden Flyern.

Suchitra Vijayan's "Midnight's Borders: A People's History of Modern India" is a crass reminder of how arbitrarily nation-states come to be, sacrificing millions of lives and impoverishing generations to come for the myth of humans somehow being different from other humans because some drunk Englishman drew lines on a piece of paper.
Highly recommended read! If anywho in the void has suggestions for a radical exploration of India's colonial history, pls lmk.

Ihr wisst ja, ich hab' einen OpenStreetMap-Fetisch 🙂 Schon sehr lange trage ich gemeinsam mit der Schweizer OSM-Community die Idee rum, dass die ~2000 erfassten Gemeindegrenzen in OpenStreetMap besser gepflegt werden sollten.

Ben jij op de hoogte van het #detentiecentrum in jouw gemeente? Dit is een plek waar de Nederlandse overheid kinderen, families en vrouwen gevangen zet en vervolgens deporteert. Dit proces kan uitermate traumatisch zijn: gezinnen worden vroeg in de ochtend uit hun woning gehaald, naar het detentiecentrum gebracht, en onder dwang gedeporteerd, soms met geweld. Sommige van deze #kinderen zijn hier geboren, en voor velen is dit hun thuis.
In maart heb je de kans om verandering te brengen voor deze gezinnen. Of je nu partijlid bent of een betrokken inwoner, doe met ons mee om een einde te maken aan deze onmenselijke praktijk! Je kunt een bijdrage leveren door het de delen met je omgeving of door acties en activiteiten te organiseren in je gemeenschap. Today there was a demonstration in #Amsterdam for free migration and refugee rights. Organised by MiGreat (https://migreat.org/en). The weather was great (a bit to sweltering) with mostly nice people. The only disappointment was the turnout, but that also made it nicer in a certain way. The reason for the turnout was probably; 1. people were to tired after the NATO-summit; 2. the municipality decided to move us out of the center, a 15 min. walk from the nearest public transport (although not having to trip over tourists is also a plus); 3. there was also a demo against an anti-refugee demo in Haarlem.
Here is a short time-lapse (via MiGreat with permission, blur is ours) at the moment we arrived back in the Martin Luther King Park (the start and finish).

Over the past 3 days, I’ve gone to three different gatherings that all share 1 common theme: brutally unnecessary loss, which in turn is inseparable from brutal forms of theft.
On Friday, I walked up a steep hill in the middle of urban Montreal to a secluded grassy area surrounded by trees and filled with birdsong. It felt instantly sacred. And instantly ugly. The bodies of Indigenous children, victims of nonconsensual psychiatric experiments in the 1950s-60s, are likely buried in unmarked graves on these grounds—a former psychiatric hospital owned by McGill University. At a weekly vigil, people and orange ribbons cry out for the “TRUTH” of colonialism.
Yesterday, I listened to panelists talk about the 20th anniversary of a 7-day “Solidarity across Borders” walk from Montreal to Ottawa, with ethics like “status for all.” It took 6 months to organize, and brought together people compelled to move from all corners of the globe. Rad banners from demos over the years had been put up around the room, and someone noted an addition to the oft-used “No One Is Illegal” slogan: “Canada Is Illegal.” Yet various folks on the walk were later deported. And as the contrast between collective possibility 20 years and how much worse things are now filled the air, the banners started falling to the ground.
Today I went on a funeral march for DIY cultural and political spaces. A marching band accompanied us through the streets. We stopped outside now-bland, hipster-upscale businesses that had once housed lively evenings, or as one person put it, “places to fall in love with art, friends, communities, the city,” to speak to the ravages of capitalism. There were relatively few of us. Passersby seemed confused, for they had no idea what gentrification had erased.
Last night, at midnight, a friend in Vienna had just woken up and texted: “My body is in a state of shock. I hug you, because I don’t know what else to do at this moment.” I knew they meant because the US had begun bombing Iran. Minutes before, I’d read the news, wondering how I could go to sleep. How can any of us sleep at night—we, who are intertwined by brutally unnecessary losses and our broken, rebellious hearts?
