Tim Rice wrote the lyrics "No lover's ever faithful" while he was having an extramarital affair. Then he told the woman he was having an affair with to sing those words.
In-story, it makes sense because all the men Florence knows are total fucking shitheads.
It's still a great song, but it's a perfect example of the Straights Not Being Okay, for both the real and the fictional straights.
