A1, Hi 👋 makers friends, I am Janet and I make miniatures. This week I have been working on my miniature sideboard - making tiny scroll style handles for the doors. I have also been working on my miniature sewing. I am currently experimenting with bagging out a 1/12 size man’s jacket. A bit ambitious but worth a go. #HandSewing #No52 #DollsHouse

Cleaned my workspace and found my ‘pinged’ sideboard door handle. Well, that’s an hour of my life I won’t get back - but worth it, I think. Now to restart the polishing and finishing!!

Today I have been working with brass. I have annealed it (softened it with heat). Then I bent it round the brass rod and cut it.

Good News: Bad News
It fits together pretty well (yeah 🙌!) BUT I need to pause to attach the handle before final assembly. (I took a tiny nick out of the veneer 🙄 trying to open with a fingernail and thought 💭) and there’s (yet again) a little bit more sanding to do!
Stopping for dog walk and lunch.

Completely forgot #MakersHour last night and had meant to share that I blocked my mini knitting (the silk one is now cast off but not blocked yet). The blue Lacey one is a shawl pattern but it has come out a bit big - the two tone garter is the size of a one twelfth scale double bedspread.

@I_am_a_plant It’s one twelfth scale so should be around 3inches across the needle. It’s for my #DollsHouse #No52 (you’ll get some of my other makes on this #). However I am rapidly producing more items than I can display so I am thinking of creating room boxes for others.

Latest #miniatures project- a shawl knitted on 1mm needles with silk thread. Slow work but coming along.

I’m very slowly making an art deco inspired sideboard. There’s a lot still to be done, nothing you see here is glued in yet - but here’s a dry fit of the main parts.

The piecing is finished! This round the world quilt now needs backed and I have to choose a quilting pattern which I will continue to work by hand. This is a very satisfying project so far. Two pictures because the pattern stands out better from a distance. The penny is there for scale. #quilting #HandSewing @quilting #No52 #MiniQuilt
