Training’s almost done and car 38 is still running! This makes me happy, because the last time I saw Samantha Tan race at #NLS3 her car broke down in the early-morning session and that was it for the entire event. Fingers crossed for more luck this weekend.

The 120 has a nose that’s half covered in a sea of duct tape, while the 544 has a nose that is completely missing its bumper. It seems the Nordschleife is a bit temperamental today. #NLS3

I’ve been forced to put on a battery-powered heat vest to keep my lungs moving properly. Only it’s very thick and I was already wearing five layers of clothing + it restricts my movements, so I’m in full Penguin Mode. #NLS3

When I left the Nürburgring on September 1st 2019, I thought I’d be back 2 weeks later in #vln. But my co-driver broke his knee, so I cancelled. Then I got covid in March 2020 and my world stopped. But after ‘2 weeks’ that took a little longer than expected, I’m home again. #NLS3

After two failed attempts in the past month, I’m now on my way to the Nürburgring for #NLS3. I’m still not sure if it’s s good idea (nobody knows what the cold Eifel air will do to my botched lungs), but I suppose that makes this trip all the more of an adventure.

I’m learning the hard way that being cleared to go to race tracks based on the general covid-situation in the world isn’t the same as actually being physically fit enough to go. #NLS2 plans cancelled, sadly, but we’ll try again for #NLS3. Not giving up! Nope.
