  1. Went through the McDrive for a milkshake and they gave me five double-sheeted napkins. I think they know about the Remolade debacle. #NLS1

  2. I have only caught a few seconds of parc fermé video footage, but I saw two very serious-looking race winners and Markus Winkelhock who appeared to be unhappy with his helmet hair. So I guess the mood down there is interesting. #NLS1

  3. After last year’s #N24 I always think of this car as (in the voice of Eddie Mielke): GRELLOOOOOOOOOO. #NLS1

  4. I have found the number 1 race fans fan. (It is more interested in people than cars.) #NLS1

  5. There are a lot of yellow cars on the grid today. They appear to come in two shades: hurtsyoureyes yellow (Grello and a few others) and orange-y yellow (see photo because it’s a hard shade to describe). #NLS1

  6. There was a very loud SKRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII outside the Mercedes Arena just now and then there was a big dust cloud going up into the air, but I couldn’t find any footage of it on the livestream, so somebody just got away with something. #NLS1

  7. Lesson learned from the start of group 3: breaking for turn 1 isn’t optional. #NLS1

  8. It’s almost go time! The first group of cars starts at 12.00h, so make sure you don’t miss the start of the first 2024 NLS race. *hurries over to a grandstand so she won’t miss it herself* Stream: youtube.com/watch?v=Oml0FNqrH0 #NLS1

  9. With less than half an hour to go until the start, all the drivers can do now is wait. And wait. And wait some more. #NLS1

  10. I doubt they’ll still be lining up this nice and quiet once the lights have gone green. #NLS1

  11. Nice! My lungs are still half busted and there’s pollen in the air so breathing is a bit of A Thing, but if I stay around here I think I’ll be safe. #NLS1

  12. Personally I’d be a bit worried if my car was still on the jacks after 11, but the 504 crew seems calm enough. #NLS1

  13. Car 16 is piloted by Mr Winkelhock and Mr STIPPLER. You have to shout that second name for proper pronunciation. #NLS1

  14. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen a pitlane this busy at an #NLS event. #NLS1

  15. I thought I wouldn’t be seeing any Red Bulls today because I missed #F1 qualifying, but……! #NLS1

  16. One of this weekend’s highlights is the presence of Robert Wickens. He’s driving car 831. #NLS1

  17. It’s safe to say these tyres were heated properly. #NLS1

  18. The race starts at 12 o’clock but the retired car is a fact. The 175 hasn’t survived qualifying. #NLS1

  19. Pole for Sonic the Hedghog! Oh no, sorry. For Frank Bird and Daniel Juncadella. #NLS1

  20. Bought a breakfast Brötchen, ate it extremely carefully and somehow I still ended up with a pair of pants covered in Remolade sauce. Whyyy? #NLS1

  21. There is so much sun that there is actually a shadow on the main straight! (Mind you, it’s still not super warm and the grass is wet but for the Nürburgring this is practically tropical.) #NLS1

  22. It took a little longer than expected to get here (the police blocked the freeway for a while), but we made it! And… the sky is blue. I don’t know why. It’s highly unusual. #NLS1

  23. Now that April 1st is two days behind us, I finally feel safe again to go online and trust good news when I see it, such as the fact that #NLS1 has 117 (!) cars on the entry list. This is going to be fun next Saturday.

  24. Bottom right shows the #NLS1 winners doing a lengthy interview with Patrick Simon, while top left multiple cars are still in the middle of their race. Oh, the peculiar joys of the Nordschleife.

  25. Downside: the 7 stalled before the hill and it’s a nasty climb on foot. Upside: the 7 stalled right next to a toilet, which is a commodity not found all too often next to the Nordschleife. (As I know far too well.) #NLS1
