  1. just throwing my 2 cents into the #vpn choices and based on what i've looked at in the last few days.
(yes i'm moving away from #mullvad not in a cutting off my nose to spite my face sort of way)

i've looked at the following and i've decided not to go with : #ivpn, #windscribe

i also avoided #kagi (incidentally also partnered with ws with discounts) which has AI , based in US and a paid model that I suspect I'll still be the product even though I paid. Either way, i've tested the free search and I don't find it life changing great.

the ones that made the 'okay' list was : #njalla, #xeovo, #riseup, #airvpn

i wasn't able to find (easily) a list of server locations with #njalla,

njalla, riseup and xeovo needed some sort of tech knowledge to get started, and its not ideal as i needed to get this for the household and mobiles.

only airvpn was one of the remaining that may had dubious twitter past. but it was the only choice left that had the server location i needed, so this was where i eventually land. mind, airvpn requires you to register with an account, so if you are worried about this, it's not for you. i don't use them for anonymity.

tbh, if xeovo had locations and native app setup, i will jump on it. right now it just felt like a compromise.

  16. @Tamtam @tael i just tested several of those "frequentable" #VPN providers.

#njalla is IMHO, at least to me, my best choice. My speedtests show consistent higher speeds, and i dont see any security downsides to it.

    Updates:
    1. It should be noted that #njalla basically gives you a #wireguard config. At this stage I can't see any option to swap locations, block ads, allow LAN bypass, ... Unless you can manage it yourself via Wireguard config.

    2. #NymVPN is slightly slower (even in fast mode) but very interesting as well. Only that for now, despite providing the option, I can't use LAN bypass (on #Grapheneos ). I have opened a ticket for investigation.

  21. Então, do nada, me vi no centro do conflito privacidade/anonimato versus segurança/rastreabilidade.

  26. Good news! Looks like @njalla silently added support for credit cards. 🥳💸
Their website started listing it on November 29.

Was going to ditch them before my next renewals because I refuse to use Bullshit Coins or PayPal, the worst of all payment companies.

  31. @lobo @njalla

Thanks! I didn't think to check #BGP.... I checked #DNS, and thought my ISP was doing filtering/blachlisting as traceroute just dropped off in their core.

But not advertising routes would certainly explain things.

I wish #njalla was more transparent/informative about outages.

  36. Hey @njalla are the #OpenVPN #vpn servers not working?
I can't hit it any of the three endpoints on my normal ports (80, 443, 1194).

Is it me with #Spectrum/#Charter doing some blocking? Or is it #Njalla?
