  7. The museum has very graciously received a #Philips PM6620 counter, one of the very few Philips instruments to use #nixie tubes.

    As well as a #HP 182T display with 8558B spectrum analyzer and a HP5304A counter.

    Should you have user, service manuals or schematics for any of these they'd be greatly appreciated! Especially the PM6620 seems very difficult to find.

    The HP8558B needs repairs specifically its RBW does not work very well, if you know common faults / repairs let me know.

  17. Bummer. Got a bunch of these nixies and about half have some missing digits that do this. Trying to scrounge enough to send some to a fellow Tektronix nerd in Germany.
    Some of them have digits that just do this and don’t fire at all, while some others have one or two digits that won’t fire unless you jump from an adjacent digit with a little bit of overlap where they’re both on.
    I know they had a bit of radioactive magic in them to help them fire, which I assume has decayed beyond helpful at this point.

    Уже не первый десяток лет газоразрядные цифровые индикаторы переживают свой ренессанс. Одни собирают часы и метеостанции на широко распространённых ИН-12, другие уходят в тему с головой и пытаются наладить своё производство ламп немыслимых доселе форм и размеров . Большинство конструкций на газоразрядниках, которые мне попадались в категории «для начинающих», использовали давно снятые с производства микросхемы по типу К155ИД1 или SN74141. Также многие встреченные схемы экономили на оных, используя один дешифратор для всех ламп сразу, коммутируя аноды через оптопары. Поставить же две ИН-12, валявшихся в ящике уже десяток лет, хотелось в свой проект CD-плеера — отображать номер трека или радиостанции. Поэтому хотелось иметь такой же модуль, как и любой другой дисплей — не сильно крупнее геометрически, чем сами лампы, подключающийся по какой-нибудь стандартной шине и не требующий от процессора никаких заморочек с обновлением динамической индикации и всего такого, да и на производящихся по сей день компонентах до кучи. Кто же знал, чем это всё для меня обернётся!

  43. Voltage measurements starting to show signs of life after swapping out a few bum transistors in the 0% zone card. The 0% cursor isn’t working yet, so I don’t know where it’s measuring from, but I can get changing readings by moving the 100% cursor. The change roughly corresponds the peak to peak amplitude, which is promising.
