I’m quantenzitrone [ˈkvantn̩t͡siˈtʁoːnə] or short Zitrone, a mostly male #human. If your native language has a word for Zitrone (Lemon) with the same roots as Zitrone (de), e.g. Citron (fr), Cytryna (pl) or Sitruuna (fi), you may also use that one.

I like computers, especially those running #GNUlinux especially #NixOS. I’m still setting up my #homeserver with NixOS. I maintain a few packages and nixos modules in #nixpkgs. I'd call myself a nixpkgs maintainer. No commit bit, tho. Yet.

I like #programming, especially in #rustlang, sometimes when programming in other languages I notice that they are in fact not Rust. Sometimes I complain about it on here.

I like playing board or card games and i like cycling. What else? IDK, life. Just the joy of being, thinking and feeling.

I may meow at you especially if you’re cute OR meow-at-able

I'm still buzzing from the incredible energy at @nixos_org NixCon 2025! It was such an awesome event, and a real showcase of how much the Nix community is growing and professionalizing. You can really see how Nix is becoming more widespread and a serious tool for businesses.

Upon landing in Helsinki I quickly stopped by my apartment to drop off luggage, and then went straight to #Helsinki #OtaNix https://otanix.fi/events/helsinki-meetup-2025. That too was fairly laid back. I acquainted with some more nice people (some have learned about the meetup while at CERN, OtaNix goes global?!), greeted some familiar faces, distributed the leftover #NixCon merch, and headed back home to sleep

As for #Switzerland... during #NixCon I was describing it thus: "I've never stayed at a hotel more expensive than my now hostel".

Nor did I ever imagine I'd find a jurisdiction more obsessed with rules, protocols, formalities, and overall "bureaucracy" than Finland or Germany, yet there we were: Moscow-style SMS-based access to "public" WiFi: as at ZRH, so at the hostel. "Monzoone" they call it. I was warned about the radios by every other passer by too. Passport details booking suburban trains

However, the main feature of this #NixCon was, of course, the corporate presence. From sponsorships to hiring, from trading to "AI", it's all now pretty much out in the open. The exact structure of this relationship is yet to crystallize, and it could well be we somehow manage to preserve mutual respect and stay peers (a task of the Foundation, but also every one who accepts money), rather than separate into hierarchies, but one thing is certain: #Nix went mainstream and there's no going back.

First morning back in Helsinki. This #NixCon was more chill for me than Darmstadt and Berlin: I didn't chase people with questions all that much, there was no reason to prepare any last minute lightning talk because Connor was there and spoke at the State of the Union. In fact, the Saturday afternoon I mostly spent at the lake, swimming and sitting in the sun gazing at the cartoonishly-green mountain on the other side

Today after #NixCon, we went for dinner with a large group of people. What struck me is how different we all are... yet how easily we share food, stories, and laughs. Diversity really does make us stronger. This project is great, and so is its community. #nix

Thanks to everyone involved for an amazing #NixCon2025 ! As my first #NixCon, I'm happy to have finally met so many familiar names I only knew from collaborating online, like Philip Taron, @glepage, @winter and many others :blobcatspace: :nixos: (this list would become too long to mention everyone I met, sorry :blobcateyes:)

Looking back at a wonderful time at #NixCon2025 in Switzerland. Spent the days learning, sharing ideas, and engaging with the amazing #Nix community. Grateful for all the connections and insights. I'm already excited for the next #NixCon!
