Sorry to hear that. I suspect that there are non-responders for cacao flavonols, just like there are non-responders for blueberry flavonols* (the mechanism of action is similar, involving nitric oxide production). Chocolate and cacao products can vary in the amount and quality of flavonols. CocoVia has a very high amount of flavonols (and low heavy metals, and no added sugar or fat in the plain powder), so that's what I'd recommend trying if someone is interested in testing the effects of cacao flavonols.

There are other ways to boost nitric oxide production.
Here's a YouTube playlist of videos on nitric oxide and ways to increase it:

    Interesting, thanks for sharing!

Humming also increases nasal nitric oxide [NO] production.* NO is vasodilatory, but a lot of migraine treatments are aimed at vasoconstriction. I'm a bit skeptical of the vasoconstriction approach and I've never tried ergot drugs. My sister used them, and also beta blockers, and has had multiple strokes. Maybe she would have had the strokes anyway, but she still struggled with migraines despite all the Rx meds.

Reactive aldehydes enhance the antimicrobial effect of nitric oxide - possibly an explanation for the maintenance of ALDH2* in Asian populations.
Acetaldehyde doesn't work - so drinking alcohol won't help treat TB infection.
Warburg Effect - anaerobic glycolysis produces aldehydes (methylglyoxal) [22:12, 54:26].

Interesting, but the article is frustratingly vague about the mechanism of action.

The drug/MoA is probably the same as in this article⬇️
"PnPP-19 potentiates erection, in vivo and ex vivo, via NO/cGMP pathway, does not affect sodium channels or rat heart, and shows no toxicity and low immunogenicity, what makes it a very promising candidate as a novel drug in the therapy of erectile dysfunction."

    dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.juro.2015

    ~
NO is antimicrobial and it's possible this drug could be used for other purposes.

  21. What I find interesting about fentanyl is how it differs from morphine:

The effects of morphine, methadone, and fentanyl on mitochondria: A live cell imaging study
    doi.org/10.1016/j.brainresbull

Morphine but not fentanyl and methadone affects mitochondrial membrane potential by inducing [NO] release in glioma cells

Morphine's immunoregulatory actions are not shared by fentanyl

  22. Humming greatly increases the levels of nitric oxide in the nose. Research had shown that “NO increased 15-fold during humming compared with quiet exhalation. […] This effect is likely due to increased contribution of NO from the paranasal sinuses. Humming causes the air to oscillate, which in turn seems to increase the exchange of air between the sinuses and the nasal cavity.” #humming #nitricoxide #health
