Once again, it’s not easy displaying Long Art on here, but the gnome ghusbands don’t mind. They’re just happy to be together on a beautiful night in the woods, with a cozy fire (and cuddles) to keep warm.

Six calves were once trapped inside a Vosborg house for two weeks after being snowed in during a winter storm. When the snow finally melted, their owners were amazed to find them not only still alive but well feed, which they attributed to the work of the Nisse. #FolkloreSunday

Jeg skal innrømme at jeg hadde ikke veldig store forventninger til denne, da den dukket opp som åpningsfilm på årets Ramaskrik. Når man lanserer en norsk film med engelsk tittel, så tenker jo jeg mitt, og mumler kanskje til og med litt i skjegget.
Men filmen overrasket svært positivt! Dette er rett og slett en veldig underholdende og morsom film, som på alle vis spiller ut fordommer og kulturkræsj mellom nisser, bygde-nordmenn og USA-varianten av amerikanere. (Og derav engelsk tittel!) Rett og slett et fyrverkeri av en nissefilm.
Filmen har premiere i Norge i morgen, 10. November.

Similar in appearance to gnomes, the nissen help care for the livestock on Scandinavian farms. They have a particular fondness for the horses, and undoing the braids that a nisse puts in a horse’s mane can anger him to the point of malicious retaliation.
