The August 1814 burning of the #WhiteHouse was a glorious sabotage of the slave-holding empire 🇺🇲 whose genocide killed 90% of #NativeAmericans.
The burning was directed by Major General Robert Ross, from County Down. Ulster Protestants like Bob are famous for #pyromania. Their huge July bonfires are scary highlights of Ulster summer.
But the bonfires rely on plentiful #pallets. Without #palletisation, young #orangemen might still go west to burn #WashingtonDC each summer. #MuchMoreFun!

Update: it seems that it wasn't the court's decision but an agreement between two parties resulting in the case being dropped. Still, the TERFs didn't get their way.

The Rt Hon Sir Jeffrey Donaldson was a knight, and a member of the UK's #PrivyCouncil. Procedures for ending both are routinely invoked when the title-holder gets a non-trivial prison sentence.
Rapist #JeffreyDonaldson has been warned that he wil get a very non-trivial sentence. His title and PC membership will be revoked.
So what's in it for him to surrender voluntarily?
I don't see the reward. Any insights?

#Rapist #JeffreyDonaldson is in prison. The former #DUP leader was convicted of all 18 sexual offences he was charged with, and will be sentenced in September. His wife Eleanor faced only a "trial of the facts", but all charges were upheld.
Sexual abuse by powerful men is an all-Ireland problem. It's a scandal that yet again, justice has been delayed by decades. 😡
This isn't just one wicked criminal, or one party. It's an all-Ireland cultural failure.

This is #Craigyhill bonfire in #Larne for the Twelfth of July hatefest, nearing 125 rows of paliets. The bonfire won't just emit vast amounts -of CO2 & smoke, and endanger life. Those pallets are full of carcinogenic preservatives.
I loathe the thuggery and sectarianism of #loyalism as much as the environmental destruction.
But my heart breaks for the cultural poverty of people whose social pinnacle is a tower of burning hate with effigies of #pope & #papists. You poor, sick bastards.

Al is a veteran of the British imperialist school of slow learners. His career was mostly in the 4th failed British invasion of #Afghanistan. His focus now is making it hard to prosecute Brit soldiers who killed #Irish civilians.

This is the 3rd time in 105 years that #loyalist #terrorists have mounted a #pogrom in #Belfast. They burnt #Catholic homes in 1921–23, and in 1969. In 2026, the loyalist target is #migrants.
This is not a #NorthernIreland problem. Similar violence happens in Scotland too.
This is a #British problem. It's the legacy of hundreds of years of violent #imperialism and imperial ideology, stoked by #Musk et al.
But Brit #MSM won't even name the loyalism, let alone the imperialism.

Over 300,000 British soldiers were sent to #NorthernIreland during 25 years of #TheTroubles.
Those troops killed 315 people. The overwhelming majority were Catholic civilians including women, 2 priests, and over 60 children. But only a handful of #BritishArmy prosecutions took place. Few were convicted, and many of those were released early.
Time to stop pandering to victim-makers, says #MarkThompson.

Nor were they deployed during the racist riots in England last year
A cynical take would be anti-immigrant violence is fine, pro-immigrant violence is bad. But I think democracy vs fascism is a more apt frame
