"The illness has a 40 to 75% fatality rate in humans (WHO).
While it can spread from person to person, it does not do this easily, and outbreaks are usually small and fairly contained (EU Centre for Disease Prevention).
The virus is most commonly spread by #fruitbats. Consumption of fruit or fruit products -like raw date palm juice-containing saliva or urine from infected fruit #bats is a most likely source of infection."
