  1. If you were to start reading Nina Stibbe, I’d always suggest starting with Love Nina, which is a collection of letters she wrote home when she was a student in London and nanny to Mary-Kay Wilmer’s kids, with Alan Bennett for a neighbour.

    Man At The Helm is the first of a semi-autobiographical trilogy about the childhood and adolescence of Lizzie Vogel. It’s very funny.

    This one isn’t about Lizzie Vogel so you could just pick it up.

  3. I’ve just sat up finishing “One Day I Shall Astonish The World” by Nina Stibbe and just wanted to emphasise that she is an incredibly funny author and if you haven’t read her you’re missing out.

    I’ve also found with Nina that her books work best on the page, there’s a sort of comic cadence in my head that even the best audiobook readers don’t seem to quite get. Or maybe that’s a me thing.

    month in Chez Scone as so far reading Went to London, took the dog. reread Love, Nina, rewatched Love, Nina and it's almost time for the traditional rereading An Almost Perfect Christmas.
