Turns out, countries that complained so loudly about #extraterritorial killings in the #Nijjar and #Pannun cases have their own official elite hit squads.

Canada, grow a pair, and do something about the #Alberta and #Quebec #separatists.

#Khalistani terrorists #Nijjar and #Pannun are back in the news. A #Khalistan separatist group accused #Russia of direct involvement in the murder of terrorist Nijjar in #Canada last year.

The group denounced what it calls the "Russia-#India terror nexus" allegedly aimed at silencing #Sikh separatists in North America.

The group's lawyer is non other than Pannun himself 😂, who was to be assassinated in New York just days after the murder of Nijjar.

Ooh! That hurt @loran_hayden's fragile ego. Good riddance!

I fully expect #Khalistan to blow up in Canada's face

    >> #Nijjar incident is not about #Modi

IOW, this is not a political issue about one party or another. This is about #secession and territorial integrity of a nation.

Lots of people don't like Modi, and I'm no fan of his on many policy issues, but to color one's judgement of a terrorist or secessionist because you don't like the CURRENT PM of a country, or to call the whole country "uncivilized" or "shithole" only brings out the bigotry in the person speaking such words.

#India had linked #Nijjar to various terrorist activities, including a 2007 movie theatre bombing and the 2009 murder of #Sikh politician Rulda Singh. So this predates #Modi by at least 5 years.

India made several diplomatic requests over a decade-long period, but Canada refused to extradite Nijjar and rein-in other Sikh #extremists.

You think you are winning an argument by pivoting away from geopolitics of how diplomatic spat over #Khalistan & #Nijjar will benefit #China at the expense of both #Canada & #India?

To answer your ques, yes I have. Caste system in India was abolished in 1948 and negative discrimination on the basis of caste is banned. It was enshrined in India's Constitution in 1950.

It persists just like racism and bigotry persists in US and Canada.

  11. ⬆️ >> spectacular breakdown in bilateral relations between #Canada and #India

The above-linked story makes a false equivalence between the #extraterritorial killing of #Khashoggi (a #WAPO journalist) by #Saudi government inside a Saudi embassy, and the killing of #Nijjar (a known #Khalistani separatist) who India repeatedly asked the Canadian govt to rein in.

Khashoggi wasn't fomenting secession in KSA. Nijjar was doing that from Canada with impunity, and Canada refused to heed India's requests

  12. The spectacular breakdown in bilateral relations between #Canada and #India comes at a time when the West see India as a critical counterweight to #China in the #IndoPacific.

"It’s not that transnational repression, in which governments reach beyond their borders to try to silence dissidents and which watchdog groups say is on the rise, hasn’t occurred in democracies"

  15. #Trudeau admits #Canada had no hard proof of #India’s involvement in #Nijjar’s killing.

In a massive embarrassment for Canada, the country’s PM Justin Trudeau on Wednesday admitted that Ottawa only provided some intelligence inputs and no hard proof before accusing India of killing #Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Testifying before the country’s foreign interference inquiry, Trudeau admitted that India had demanded the sharing of proof after the allegations.

#Canada is also in the top 5 for #IsraelApartheid, just like #Khalistan #secessionist movement.

    #US is in neither.

The problem is that not many people remember, and even fewer are aware of the short shrift the Canadian government has given to this issue. Here is a decent video done by a Canadian, for a Canadian audience, from a Canadian perspective ➡️ sfba.social/@TruthSandwich/111

The issue had been dormant for 3 decades but recently flared up. I connected the dots in 3 stories— arrest of #AmritpalSingh in #Punjab, #Nijjar story, and #Pannun story here ➡️ mastodon.social/@rameshgupta/1

    >> He wasn’t a foreign national in #Canada, he was a #Canadian citizen

That's #Trudeau's take too, who said targeting him was an affront to Canadian sovereignty.

This misses that #Nijjar was not targeted because he was #Canadian, but because of his deeds.

Treating Nijjar JUST as a Canadian is no different to stripping #Hamas of its deeds and treating them as JUST #Gazans. The latter is true but irrelevant in a counter-terrorism operation

Turkey does NOT consider #Hamas a #terrorist organization.

It had warned #Israel that it would be "doomed to pay a heavy price" if it tried to assassinate members of #Hamas on Turkish soil.

  25. Indian high commissioner in Ottawa, Sanjay Verma, accused Canada of conducting a "tainted" probe into the murder case of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Verma stated that Canada has not shared any relevant information that India can assist with, and suggested that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau's allegations about Indian involvement compromised the investigation. Canada's claims were informed by shared intelligence from the Five Eyes alliance, but Verma argued that conversations between diplomats are protected and cannot be used as evidence.

  26. India's High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, has called on Ottawa to provide evidence to support its allegations of New Delhi's involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Verma stated that Canada's investigation into the murder has already been tainted by public statements from a high-level Canadian official. The relationship between India and Canada has been strained since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations in September, and Verma has criticized Canada for not providing specific information to assist with the investigation.
