On dark, rural roads, I take my time and scan visually ahead for the light reflecting off a deer's eyes on the side of the road. That's prevented collisions a number of times! As for my headlights? Warm, old school lights that work just fine to illuminate deer eyes!

There is a *Standard* to do with how bright (lumens) a low beam must be, but it seems that modern cars are not compliant to me… I know I’m getting old and my vision isn’t what it once was but, sincererly, do low beam **have** to be that bright?
