Revu 'Cabal ' de Clive Barker. j'en avais un vague souvenir de videoclub. J'ai choisi de regarder la version director's cut proposé sur le coffret blu-ray. Je suis mitigé. Ca reste pour moi un film super bancale. Il ya pourtant des éléments vraiment super : le vieux cimetière, les monstres, le masque du tueur etc... même l'intrigue est plutôt sympa. Alors j'ai appris qu'il existait une ultimate director's cut ! fabriqué à partir de rushs retrouvés... ca nous donne quelque chose comme 3H de film. bon, ok, mais pas pour tout de suite ! #clivebarker #cabal #nightbreed #horrormovie

Apparently this was the “first truly gay horror fantasy epic”. I’m not sure I picked up any of that back in 1990. I just knew that after Hellraiser we all loved Clive Barker and were a bit disappointed by this follow-up. There’s plenty written about it in retrospect if you’re so inclined.

Just finished watching #Nightbreed for the umpteenth time. Yes, there is a lot of very cheesy dialogue & effects, & the acting of the leads is far from stellar, but there is something about that movie that just enthralls me every time I watch it. I’m just going to go out on a limb, but I assume it’s something to do with the monsters being persecuted good guys & humans being the real monsters? Wonder why that would speak to me 🤔

“To be able to fly, to be smoke, or a wolf? To know the night and live in it forever? That's not so bad. You call us 'monsters’, but when you dream, you dream of flying, and changing, and living without death. You envy us, and what you envy….”

“...We destroy.”
