Duński wizjoner i prowokator Nicolas Winding Refn po raz kolejny odrzuca klasyczną narrację na rzecz czystej sensorycznej hipnozy. Do polskich kin wchodzi właśnie „Jej piekło” – surrealistyczny thriller psychologiczny, w którym estetyka giallo, gęsta mgła i kompozycje legendarnego Pino Donaggio budują opowieść o traumie, zemście i mitycznym zabójcy.
Neonowy koszmar i powrót do estetyki giallo
Twórca kultowego „Drive” oraz „Neon Demon” przyzwyczaił widzów do tego, że treść w jego filmach bywa pretekstem do budowania wizualnych i dźwiękowych przestrzeni. W „Jej piekle” Refn przenosi nas do spowitej mgłą, futurystycznej metropolii. Fabuła splotła losy dwóch postaci: młodej kobiety zmagającej się z rodzinną zdradą oraz amerykańskiego żołnierza, który przeczesuje miejskie podziemia w poszukiwaniu uwięzionej córki.
Czysty dramat szybko ustępuje miejsca grozie, gdy z cienia wyłania się Leatherman – mityczny, śmiercionośny zabójca polujący na młode kobiety. Istotnym elementem atmosfery filmu jest oprawa muzyczna. Refn zaprosił do współpracy Pino Donaggio, żywą legendę muzyki filmowej, odpowiedzialnego za ścieżki dźwiękowe do takich klasyków Briana De Palmy jak „Carrie” czy „Wybuch”. Operowa, niepokojąca muzyka staje się tu równorzędnym bohaterem spektaklu.
