@nix I’d also be interesting to hear your basis on the first point, as I’ve only heard weaker arguments, and I’d be interesting in hearing stronger ones.

On the second point, it took a lot of research which frankly I don’t feel like doing again…I can take a look to see if I can find the old thread though; I did it from a #Mastodon alt and included all the studies I found. The TL;DR is that, generally speaking for every 3 studies that state that gender affirming care has good results, there are about 2 studies that say that it has bad results, with only one long-term (I think about 40 years or so) study stating that long-term, people have a higher chance of suicide after transitioning, but to be fair that study was also relatively small IMHO.

The porn in schools one is easier to demonstrate, although the amount of people on the #Fediverse unaware of the fight over including child porn in schools somewhat surprises me. The most popular example is the inclusion of the book #GenderQueer, which has illustrations that depict not only children having sexual intercourse, but pedophilic behavior as well (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_Queer#Censorship_and_controversy_in_the_United_States)

There’s also a lesser known example of the book #NickAndCharlie, which also has underage sex scenes, although to be fair, that wasn’t included in a curriculum to my knowledge, it was just in the library. (https://nypost.com/2023/02/28/knox-zajac-reads-aloud-from-pornographic-book-at-school-board-meeting/) Also, a book being in a library is a different thing than it being in the curriculum; it’s fair to make a case that sexual content should be allowed in libraries, for adult use only.
