The evening started with Matt Hart who did a lot of yelling over some hard techno, which is fine as that sort of thing goes. Certainly got the crowd moving.
And now we have Social Youth Cult from Newcastle who live up to their name - I mistook them for someone else's kids! But bloody hell they're doing some good #Bauhaus / #BirthdayParty / #Bowie stuff. Fat bass guitar lines. Certainly blowing away some of the old duffers! And possibly the first live drummer I've seen this weekend, long overdue and very welcome.

Sie stellen ihm Fragen, die er nach dem Muster souveräner Willkür beantwortet. i have issues with cave, not least his self mythologising (especially, i guess, rrh files) but currently enjoying some of his 80s output and it's truck me how insipid his new stuff's become (i realise he's selling more records and is more effusively celebrated than ever)
he started out in blackface and rags, armed to the teeth and is just getting whiter and whiter imo
