  1. As I understand, the muni (silent sage) ideal of having no views ultimately means having no perceptions: not distinguishing between objects, or between subjects and objects, just experiencing raw sensation. Going from there to objectless awareness means also closing the 'sense doors', like consciously falling asleep.

    goes to an end

  7. Lay Buddhism is closer to Hinduism, in that Hinduism believes pūjā/sīla (rituals and virtues) alone can lead to Nibbāna (eg, that devas can grant liberation). Many lay Buddhists still hold that view, and some think the point of being a monk/nun is just to make lots of merit.

  19. Guy – dhammazaadjes – De Patimokkha

Steeds in diezelfde val trappen. De kringloop van het vastklampen. Rondjes lopen. Samsara.

Nibbana.

In dít leven.

  24. In today's Daily #Sutta, the #Buddha compassionately tells people how to properly obtain #wealth, #reputation, #health, and good #rebirth. This goes directly against the popular narrative that he only taught about #nibbana.

But when we see how we can get these things, the list looks very familiar: #faith, #generosity, #virtue, and #wisdom. All of which also lead to nibbana.

Finally, he teaches how this wealth should be used.
