#NewHaven took a nasty intersection with weird angles and wide streets, and is currently turning it into an enormous peanut-shaped roundabout with protected cycletracks, pedestrian medians, and a park/garden area inside the peanut, that will limit traffic speeds to about 15MPH or less.

An additional alternative is a new high-speed rail route to #Hartford running along I-84 at 200MPH. From there, a connection to the Vermonter could be made, and this could also significantly speed up travel time to NYC via #NewHaven #NHV. Image is Figure 10 of the #Amtrak NEC Future report.
