#nhspay There are serious issues with paying a lump sum which doesn’t count as baseline salary. All future increases will exclude this money so the impact will be felt for the whole rest of staff’s working life. Feels like a gag to stop the strikes rather than anything substantial. Really surprised the unions are recommending this.

If the market rate for an experienced paramedic is £35/hr, why does the NHS pay less than £21/hr?

If they think they're saving taxpayer's money on my behalf, then they should stop it. We only have to look at the USA to see the impact on costs from having private healthcare everywhere.

If paramedics leave the NHS, the NHS will be forced to use the private companies, who not only pay their paramedics a decent wage, but also take profits.
