  2. Astrophoto: Eastern Veil Nebula – Caldwell 33 – 08/22 astrocamp.eu/en/astrophoto-cal A single software plugin changed the astrophotography game. I had to reprocess the Eastern Veil Nebula another time. This is the version using BlurXTerminator in my process. … #C33 #Caldwell33 #EasternVeilNebula #NGC6992 #clearskies

  3. My 50 megapixel #astrophotography shot of the Eastern Veil (#NGC6992). It is part of a large supernova remnant called the Cygnus Loop. Love the details on this one. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cygnus_L

  5. #SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #EasternVeil Nebula aka #NGC6992 was created 10,000 to 20,000 years ago when a large star, 20 times the mass of our Sun, exploded. The remnants of this supernova have since expanded to an area 6 times the diameter and 36 times the area of the full moon. They continue to expand so that eventually, the nebula will disappear completely. This image is 5 hours (60x300 seconds) of exposure. #StillLearning

  6. NGC 6992 Eastern Veil Nebula

Magnitude 7.0 cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust located 2,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. It is part of the Cygnus Loop which is a faint supernova remnant that exploded 7,000 years ago. From the moment the source star exploded to now, the Cygnus Loop supernova remnant expanded to a diameter of roughly 3° on the sky, or almost 6 full moons.
