📸 Rosette Nebula Deep Field
The real Rosette Nebula lies in the lower right, glowing blue and white in this wide deep-field image. It’s linked by golden filaments to other nebulae in the region. At the center is cluster NGC 2244, whose stars shape the nebula’s form. Found in Monoceros, it's 5,000 light-years away.

De nieuwe afbeelding van de Rosettenevel werd gemaakt door de Dark Energy Camera (DECam) aan de Victor M. Blanco 4 meter telescoop van de Cerro Tololo Inter-American sterrenwacht in Chili.

In the center of the nebula is #NGC2244 which is an open cluster of hot young stars. This image is 19 five-minute exposures captured in the wee hours of the morning when the #Rosette was above the horizon in NH.

Day 1454 #DailyPhoto #SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #RosetteNebula is 5000 light years away in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way. #NGC2244 is the young star cluster at its center that is ionizing the surrounding gas cloud. I was able to capture 45 three minute exposures before the clouds rolled in. I also integrated 20 bias, 20 dark, and 20 flat frames. #StillLearning
