@robbiec12345 the nights did count on my reservation. #nfb23.
-
@robbiec12345 give them a call and ask, #nfb23. Your toot reminded me to do this.
-
@robbiec12345 I received points, and the nights, but I don't think they counted towards elite status, because I should have upgraded to gold after that stay but I'm still silver. #nfb23

For anyone that attended #NFB23 and gave their Hilton Honors number when booking, did you receive points and/or elite night credit? I received points from the stay but no elite night credits. I'm guessing this is to do with either it being a special rate and/or booking through passkey rather than HH directly. I guess I won't be chasing Honors elite status after all.

This is one night I just can't sleep. I've had this aggravating cold since I came back from #NFB23. As a result, my sleep is way out of whack. I have hardly any energy to concentrate on anything. An unproductive week so far.

It felt so good to sleep in my own bed last night. It's good to be home! What an amazing convention. #NFB23

Do you think the new term "Vision Industrial Complex," coined by NFB President Mark Riccobono, will catch on? #NFB23

I literally got home from #NFB23, unpacked the laundry, setup the tech, fixed a few things, then an hour or so later crashed. I don't know if it was the time of the morning or end of shift or if it was in the water? but airport staff in terminals C and E at IAH were absolutely atrotious this morning, everything from talking to the *person* behind us, and not to me or @ablade, to specifically ignoring me at check in when I asked if it was possible to have our seats moved to accomidate the dog better because it was a full flight and the dog on the isle is a bad idea in principle, to TSA agents, attempting to separate me from my white cane, and ordering @ablade to remove her guide's gear, not asking, but *ordering*, note she didn't comply, to being told by our assistance person well I can't walk you guys to your gate in terminal E, you have to ride the cart, because my supervisor says so, I corrected her on that in a matter of seconds, and she ended up walking us, grudgingly to our gate, then left us standing next to another assistance agent, who was a lot more polite and nice, by the way and actually helped us get on that delayed flight, and said she'd be speaking to her supervisor, because agents shouldn't just piece out on their assistance passengers, to the gate agent, *refusing* to move asia to the middle or window seat, because oh the dog's fine and under the seat, even though we both explained that people have to get into and out this row, and the dog has more potential of getting stepped on with passengers going in and out of the row, but she wouldn't listen. Finally , the flight attendant asked the other two passengers in Asia's row and both of them were like, you know what, put her by the window, him next to her, and call it done, we don't understand why the gate agent is being such a moronic human. Let's load and fly! I slept the flight, and my driver met me at the gate, and well that, is me getting home!

Would just like to thank all the NFB National Office team for their outstanding work during convention. John, Karen, Beth, Cricket, Patti, those I met whose names have been scrambled by my post-convention brain, and those I didn’t. Also, because it’s dear to my heart, special thanks to the AV folks. Those things are a high-pressure environment to be mixing and managing.
It takes extraordinary effort and coordination to run an event like this. @President Riccobono did a fantastic job up there, supported by a super team. Well done all and thank you for having me. #NFB23 -
***yawns*** it’s time to wake up and get ready to head home and see my lovely little boys! This has been a great visit with family and meeting new friends and seeing old ones. #HoustonTx #NFB23

Will you see me at #nfb24 in Orlando? Only time will tell! But houston it was fun, Cleveland, where home is, see you in a few hours, Dallas, I'll see you in 11 days!

What a Convention! That’s all I can really say right now. Such a wonderful week here in Houston. It may be a year away at this point, but I already cannot wait to see everyone as we come together again in Orlando in 2024. #NFB23

Oh gosh, the speech from the Jernigan Scholarship winner was incredibly moving. I’m sitting here in tears at the banquet. What a wonderful speech from the heart. #NFB23

In an attempt to be helpful, I’ll explain why the Missouri affiliate is so enthusiastic about being at the banquet. Missouri loves company you see. #NFB23
