If you're looking for an out-of-the-box movie to share with older kids, you could do much worse than Ne Zha. Although unless the kids are OK with subtitles, you might want to seek out an English dub.
Imagine a Chinese answer to Moana or Namona. Like a lot of the best Chinese animated features, the story is based in their ancient mythology. I was looking for colourful characters and big, dumb fun, and this movies delivered both in spades.

Unbelievably, the little Village Cinemas in Hobart are screening Nezha 2! Sitting in an empty theatre and amused that somehow we’re seeing it before the uncles and aunties in Hong Kong, because the Hong Kong cinemas screwed up and didn’t get the licensing sorted in time 😅
The first movie was so good - I can’t wait! (Tissues ready)

I finally got around to watching the Chinese animated movie Nezha and it’s worthy of the hype.
The animation is gorgeous, the story an engaging retelling of the Ne Zha legend and pretty humorous, and the action sequences fantastic. I’m really looking forward to seeing the sequel now!
Nezha is on Viki in the US but not in Aus, so if you’re in my neck of the woods you may need a VPN.

Io ho visto il primo #NeZha tempo fa, ma non mi ha entusiasmato sinceramente, a parte il livello della #produzione che è altissimo e questo è oggettivo, e cmq è da vedere
La cosa che giustamente fai notare è che in Italia siamo di fatto "controllati" da altri #oltreoceano pure nell'industria #cinematografica, ma che da noi tutto è tranne che un'#industria, e questo oltre che triste è pure molto inquietante
