Google switched up the release date, I was going to wait for my 2 year cycle but the rebate and credit offers were too good to ignore - so I came to this device reluctantly. It is #silkysmooth to use and #snappy . We all know the #nexus5 was the OG android hall-of-famer. This is the first device since then that I have this level of joy to use and I wasn't expecting to experience that.

I always come back to you though every time something goes 'kaputt'. From the #nexus5 onward.

Now my #pixel8 has the 'green static display' problem and needs to be replaced.

But still I love the minimalistic #Android and the possibility to get custom roms like #grapheneos or #calyxos going.

But it's frustrating. Shall I go to Samsung instead? Bloat deluxe?

Gibt es ein #Smartphone , welches ihr euch gerne gekauft hättet, es nicht getan habt und es irgendwie noch immer bereut?

Bei mir sind das gleich drei Geräte und ich weiß noch gar nicht mal so ganz genau warum. Das #Nexus5 in weiß, das #LGG4 mit Leder Backcover und das #iPhone11Pro in Grün.

Bon bah... j'ai un #Nexus5 que j'ai réussi à ressusciter en installant #UbuntuTouch dessus... bon ça peut pas faire beaucoup plus qu'un dumb phone mais hey, c'est toujours ça. J'ai pas l'impression qu'on soit encore au stade d'un truc qui permet une expérience unifiée mobile/desktop où je pourrais passer de mon téléphone à une station (écran / périphériques) pour poursuivre un travail de bureau le tout sur un seul appareil... ça aurait été la classe

Plan: alternatives #OS auf ein #Android Phone aufspielen um #googlefrei unterwegs zu sein.

Es stellen sich mir folgende Fragn:

• kann ich es riskieren, das mit einem recht neuen #RedmiNote11ProPlus5G zu machen? Dafür käme dann nur #LineageOS in Frage? Wie hoch ist die Chance, dass ich das dabei bricke?

•Hätte alternativ auch nix dagegen, mir ein #Nexus5 #Nexus6p #XperiaZ3Compact oder #GalaxyS7 dafür zuzulegen. Mit einem dieser Geräte kämen auch andere OS in Frage?

I know that Linux phones really do need to be the future but I honestly think that open source Android still has a place. The platform works really well on mobile devices and the amount of software that is already made FLOSS is nothing to sneeze at.

After running this #Nexus5 for a few days on Linage OS I could see this as a daily driver for a lot of people in 2021.

I powered on my old #Nexus5 and installed Lineage OS 18 (Android 11) and it's really snappy! It's like 8 years old but still impressive!

Bon j'ai trouvé ça, en fait je crois que c'est la que j'avais acheter mon chargeur pour le Lenovo

Erinnert sich noch jemand an mein #Nexus5 mit #UbuntuTouch? Ich hab das seit der Installation (im September *hüstel*) etwas vernachlässigt, will jetzt aber mal weiter probieren wie es sich schlägt.

Erster Eindruck: Das war knapp 8 Monate aus, und hat noch 43% Akku. Hui!

Finally got round to replacing the cracked screen of my #nexus5 , it's still going strong after years of use (apart from the battery).

It has stopped getting official #lineageos updates, but seems to be working fine.

Where is the Android update for #Google 's #Nexus5 ? The rumor mill of last week got me looking looking looking.

If the next Android update doesn't fix the incredibly poor battery performance of the Google Nexus 5, then I'm getting a new phone. #NEXUS5
