@jolla today posted more technical data about their upcoming community phone. It will ship with the SoC iMediatek Dimensity 7100 (MT6858). Jolla got their very first functional samples (“CNC sample”) and it booots #SailfishOS. And guess what, The Other Half is happening!!!

Jolla has just released the first photos of a dummy phone with the actual size and feel. Now we know how the Do It Together (DIT) Linux phone actually will look like!

wow 110 years! Is that maybe in base-3? I've been using Sailfish OS since 2012 and that's only 13+ years (base-10) :)
It's not Sailfish OS I have a problem with, it's the C2 hardware. Under powered, too big (especially for my small hand trying to use the cool sfos gestures), and horrible camera. I should go back to my Fxtec Pro1 except it's currently in a boot loop and I haven't fixed it. I'm also waiting for the #nextgenjollaphone which looks promising.

@Muppensish that is apparently most polished port currently! I was thinking the same, but I am too hesitant to flash the phone myself. Much easier to wait for the #nextgenjollaphone . I was considering the C2 also, but I don't think that could serve my daily needs as well

@nomad99 @jolla Really nice idea and concept! I love how much great ideas there has been for the TOH. Definitely like the idea of Mind2 and now with Mind2Go as I feel uncomfortable to upload my personal data to any cloud based LLM. Jolla has really interesting times ahead of it, it is amazing to see them gaining ground again. I definitely dream that we will hit the 10k pre-orders and many more after first units have been shipped and reviews published🤩
