#ThursDeath this week is a classic. This is 'Ritual of Infinity', the only full length released by Middletown, New York's MORPHEUS DESCENDS, in 1992.

This is the re-release that Dark Descent did in 2023. 'Ritual of Infinity' is a great, twisting, winding OSDM classic with tons of crushing guitar chugging, basslines, great drums, and cavernous, roared vocals.

There isn't a lot of 'revolt metal' out there, but there should be. Syracuse, New York's TOILER make exactly that on their new EP 'The Master's Tools', and that's why it's a killer #ThursDeath for this week. After a cool, chuggy/ambient intro track (THIS is how you make an intro track!) the other four songs grind and churn in all the right ways. There's crushing dynamics and grooves everywhere-- don't miss this one. It's mean as fuck.

For #GrindayFriday this week, a big favorite since discovering them a year ago- New York's LIPOMA. Lipoma is one dude (Max Pierce) who writes & records all this. I mentioned Lipoma in April, but today new LP 'No Cure for the Sick' is out and it's DAMN great. More melodic, unique guitar riffing, and some really wild, odd stuff on this one - one song has organ in it. With pathological goregrind vocals. 😂 Weird, gross, wonderful.

#ThursDeath this week, I've been listenting to a lot of ELIMINATOR from NYC. Their name sounds kinda like a thrash band, but this is some solid deathgrind. They put out this 'Termination EP' in 2022. It rips. (I put their logo here instead the album cover, as I realized it's a little disturbing maybe. So, a warning there.)
