#ThursDeath this week is a classic. This is 'Ritual of Infinity', the only full length released by Middletown, New York's MORPHEUS DESCENDS, in 1992.

This is the re-release that Dark Descent did in 2023. 'Ritual of Infinity' is a great, twisting, winding OSDM classic with tons of crushing guitar chugging, basslines, great drums, and cavernous, roared vocals.

There isn't a lot of 'revolt metal' out there, but there should be. Syracuse, New York's TOILER make exactly that on their new EP 'The Master's Tools', and that's why it's a killer #ThursDeath for this week. After a cool, chuggy/ambient intro track (THIS is how you make an intro track!) the other four songs grind and churn in all the right ways. There's crushing dynamics and grooves everywhere-- don't miss this one. It's mean as fuck.

Kinda rough Monday, and I think that calls for one more raucous wake up album. So, #NowPlaying is another cool recent find and another great album this year, 'Objects of Misfortune' by New York's TOP DOLLAR. This is some really well produced, tight hardcore punk. It's described here as Jerry's Kids meets Floorpunch, and that's fairly accurate. Sometimes I hear some MDC, even. Killer drums. Badass listen.

This is New York's MINDFORCE and they're fairly well known around in hardcore circles, I believe. This is their first LP 'Excalibur' from 2018 and it fuckin RIPS-- the breakdowns, lyrics, everything else. Definitely almost some Warzone feel & some general early 00s hardcore vibes.

Thanks to @jeffrey I was alerted to this killer record juust barely past when I wrote about my favorites of last year. 'Dulling the Horns' is an amazing album. I love when a metal band's name perfectly illustrates what they sound like, and for this week's #ThursDeath, FOUL DECAY nails it.

Foul Decay is just one dude in Queens, and he makes gross, fantastic death metal. The first Foul Decay demo 'Sullied as They Are by Rot and Putrefaction' is great too, but this is their first true EP from 2022, 'Cesspool of Osseous Infested Confinement'.

These four disgusting tracks are just what you needed today.
