  3. @SergKoren Hey, Serg … would you consider adding a redirect to your server that handles legacy link requests to your #NewtonOS software?

Basically, send any request for the old directory:

    /Newton/

    To the new one:

    /code/newtonos/

  5. @vale Thank you for putting this post together. By the way, there is also WAP client for #NewtonOS, appropriately named NewtWAP.

  7. We’re not sure how Andrew Warkentin is accomplishing it, but he has included #MessagePad 2000, 2100, and #eMate variations of #NewtonOS 2.1 in his massive Virtual OS Museum project.

  13. @AncTreat5358 The #NewtonOS platform is self contained, but can be extended via various networking, including wifi, ethernet, and Bluetooth. There’s also a multi platform emulator that’s in active development.

  15. Update: I found it!

Attention #AppleNewton users … does anyone happen to have a copy of Enfour’s Japanese Newton Language Kit (NLK)?

It was made available to #MessagePad owners running the Japanese version of #NewtonOS.

Not sure if was a download of on CD. Even an exported copy of the packages would suffice.

    Boosts welcome.

  17. @nriley I haven’t run across an English version yet. There is no manual on the German disk that I have, but I will post some screenshots of both the #NewtonOS application and the classic #MacOS exchange utility.

  21. Absolutely brilliant post about how #macOS Tahoe is a #design car crash in terms of their icon usage:

    tonsky.me/blog/tahoe-icons/

Yesterday, I was reading #NewtonOS Human Interface Guidelines and I almost cried.

The current macOS is just so bad I'm very tempted to go back to Linux if for the UX alone
