  1. @MaleGoddess @mono

    > Drug sniffing dogs have similar pass/fail rates. They're just used for warrantless searches.

Same goes for the pirate cdrom sniffing dogs. 100% security theatre / justification for arresting the asian looking guy #newsreal
  2. weird

the folders on my mp3 player are not only playable

    but they are misanthropic_gods #newsreal

clearly the #KULT virus has infected this mp3 player
  3. @Crankenstein @Bangcubed @Eris @RacistReimu @becassine Yeah - after there's a bunch of little trends going together:
    1) social media networks, reddit under ellen pao being the most egregious example, all in lockstep decided to add censorship functionality to the general experience of social networking. This was immediately used by little political factions against eachother.
    2) in the wake of occupy, there was a big push for 'racial justice' / 'critical race theory' or whatever you want to call it: splitting the 99% into factions based on skin colour. I would also include the alt-right in this tendency. ( An excellent book on the latter is #killallnormies by A Nagel ). There seems to be a direct relationship between the race baiting on the left and the end of occupy. It was consciously and openly used by the big banks - I argue that it was used to split the left along fault lines that were always there, but which the banks knew would split if pressure was brought upon them.
    3) The feminism issue. #gamergate. Starting with the call to #newsreal concerning a personal call of whether or not to engage in a relationship at work, to the election of donald trump, to all kinds of factions and sides taking the 'you're either with us or with the terrorist' stance...with anti-gamer, anti-freedom women going to the UN and conspiring generally to entrench their power over the media at the global scale.
    4) the nationalist vs globalist issue, across a variety of venues. Trump vs the establishment in the US. the yellow vesters in france. Brexit. A *ton* of people got polarized against the elites who had for a long time been more or less getting away with running things like the M5M. Davos is now a household name in a way it wasn't before. We knew about the bilderbergs from the likes of alex jones (censored , see #1) but ...they really are having their authority questioned at every turn now. So they turn to #2 / #3 to deflect populism, generally
    5) An older culture war : between the christian , religious right and the sodomite/GBLRTP2+ crowd. The sudden change in social mores that let trans people be socially acceptable writ large - reactionary groups are on the march - there's still shockwaves of that going on and a general conversation of bioethics of body modification (and children) in the background of that.

tl;dr the left vs right dichotomy is breaking down and new kinds of conflict are emerging, broadly speaking between the rainbow left and the reactionary right - but not entirely so.
  4. I've now listened to the end of the #Misanthropic_gods #NewsReal series

Which is just as well. It was the other "fork" of NewsReal along with my podcast (and the one that deserves the name most)

When I stopped doing my podcast, I intended to take some time off to listen to them, and then get back to work doing something else. Now that's done.
  5. @NICKtheRAT @CarBlanez33
    1) it's a 70,000$ fine, not a 16k$ one
    2) Our problems run way deeper than that. You should check out C-51, the anti-terrorist act sometime. The cops can do pretty much anything to you short of rape, deny you access to a lawyer, and detain you indefinitely without access to the red cross.
    3) but with *this* law specifically... this is only half the picture. The other half is "predictive policing" units who are empowered to arrest you/interfere with you (see #2) because you match the demographic profile of someone who might commit (thought)crime. see magnet:?xt=urn:btih:420b24798c4dc40e5d704776bcde9331fb8e621e&dn=NewsRealEpisode014&tr=http%3a%2f%2fbt1.archive.org%3a6969%2fannounce&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fopentracker.i2p.rocks%3a6969%2fannounce&tr=http%3a%2f%2fbt2.archive.org%3a6969%2fannounce&tr=http%3a%2f%2fopentracker.i2p.rocks%3a6969%2fannounce&ws=http%3a%2f%2fia800908.us.archive.org%2f8%2fitems%2f&ws=https%3a%2f%2fia800908.us.archive.org%2f8%2fitems%2f eg see #newsreal s02e014
  6. Also think about #NewsReal s02e014 versus #C36

    now

If you say something in class (or anyone at home! which may have 24/7 surveillance on you through your laptop), as a young child, the school can automatically notify the cops, who can have you arrested / utterly destroy your life through C-36. Or they can focus the attention of lawfare grifters like Richard Warman and Wayne Crookes on you, and have you sued at 70,000$/"offense"

  8. 2011 : #newsreal 496 paper suggests changing law to streaming media to be a felony. that's right, *watching* a youtube video -> felony lose your right to vote. Even if you don't realize it's infringement rantmedia.ca/newsreal/download
