Thanks for all the recommendations y’all! Guess I have some tinkering to do. #newsreader #newsreaders #RSS

Anyone have a #newsreader recommendation? Must have good iOS apps and not be Feedly or Inoreader.
They’re both great apps but they’re chasing business customers with collaboration tools. I’m just one person who wants to organize my news feeds.
A read later feature that accepts external links would be welcome but not necessary. I don’t have a great read later solution right now.

Might go back to #Inoreader from Reeder. I miss a couple Inoreader features but I’m also disappointed that Reeder’s dev simply never responds to customer emails. Poor form

Am I the last of the RSS users?

Makes me happy to see articles like this again

The 10-year anniversary of #GoogleReader’s death is a good time to plug my hot take.
Yes, RSS has some problems and Reader’s death hurt the market in some ways. But I’m glad it’s gone.

Readwise is becoming an interesting read-later service, particularly because it just introduced a newsreader (RSS) component.
I’ve used Pocket for years but it seems to have stagnated, hard. Pocket’s Safari extension hasn’t been updated in 2+ years and it requires freaking Rosetta to be installed on my M1 Pro MBP. No thanks.
But. Readwise’s new RSS feature, just called Reader, doesn’t support folders. How. HOW did it ship without folders. Sigh.

Occasional reminder that the death of #GoogleReader was good, actually, because it sucked all the innovation out of the room.
Now we have a ton of great, interesting, unique options with clever features and virtually none of the insidious incentives of ads.
