Happy new smart phone time. It's a jelly star and it's tiny and adorable. It does the things I need a smart phone to do, but the size discourages me from spending too much time on it. The only real wart is the camera is not as nice as my pixel 6a.

I got a new phone, asus zenfone 10. It's practically the same as my old phone, a zenfone 8, only is it faster, has twice as much GBs, and most importantly, a usb port that works. The fingerprint reader now is in the power button instead of in the screen, not sure if i like this change. It got two huge lenses that make the phone wobble when lying on its back. But what I love is it's still the same small size, only 5.9".

Files have transferred - now it's time to let all my apps re-install on my new phone. This...well, we'll see how long it takes.
And if any of my login data transferred over. I have a feeling...it will not. Meaning manually logging into all these apps again.

Photos are finally transferring over.
Maybe I should have saved a few fewer screenshots. We're at about 10K photos. That's after I already took off 25 GB worth of photos off that were family photos to back up on a 1 TB backup drive.

Got a new smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S24. I'm now using Samsung's proprietary app to transfer everything from one to the other.
Let's see how this turns out.

Tried a few other email apps, and K9 is feeling better relative to those. Might have to just live with the no-delete-from-server issue with POP3 .
Now, on to bookmarks juggling, contacts and yet more picture downloading.

Starting on a #newPhone migration, but doing it the hard way, hoping to drop a bit of cruft and clutter in the process.
The messy bits are the thousands of photos on the old phone, the contacts (keep them all or weed out the long-lost contacts?), and bookmarks (sort or just copy?).
Then the apps - I have many I don't use, but they still sound appealing.
Live tooting the process just for kicks.

New phone, new life! Was using a 2016 iPhone SE, and finally just upgraded! I forget how quickly technology moves. It’s fun having a phone that actually does what you ask it to do. Lol
Side note: The reason I waited so long is because the newer screens (on any company) really mess up my vision. My eyes hate the high def and other fancy screens. My new phone is a newer screen from 2020. Not horrible, but still not nice on the eyes. I wish companies would stop thinking fancier is better. Give our eyes a rest! Eyes are people too! (I know I’m not the only one).

help! it's that time again! i need a new small android phone. in an ideal world, it is an android-version of an iphone mini. my zenfone 8 is dying and i cannot find a new battery. it was a just fine phone. back in the day i had a oneplus one which i loved but they stopped making small phones afaik.
should i give in and buy an absurdly large good-spec phone? or keep compromising in order to get something i can use with one hand?
