Ok. #newphone time. Want to #degoogle so do i go #sailfish #volla or #murena ? I love the @jolla phone but the @volla one would also do Ubuntu and looks interesting. The @WeAreFairphone and @murena is in the lead so far purely because of the green colour.
My current is a S24 and has at least 2 useful years left but with the changes google are planning to do I don't really think its an option.
I really wish Windows Phone took off, or PalmOS. They were bloody cool.

i have been awake way too long and i worked like 12 hours today, but my new phone's home screen if pretty cool, even if i do say so myself. (^_^)

Happy new smart phone time. It's a jelly star and it's tiny and adorable. It does the things I need a smart phone to do, but the size discourages me from spending too much time on it. The only real wart is the camera is not as nice as my pixel 6a.
So far, I have GPS, authenticator app, email, Discord, texting, phone calls, chat, internet browser, Lemmy client, podcasts. #jellystar #newphone -
I got a new phone, asus zenfone 10. It's practically the same as my old phone, a zenfone 8, only is it faster, has twice as much GBs, and most importantly, a usb port that works. The fingerprint reader now is in the power button instead of in the screen, not sure if i like this change. It got two huge lenses that make the phone wobble when lying on its back. But what I love is it's still the same small size, only 5.9".

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has now been reset and is ready to be shipped back for return.
It was a good phone for the year that I had it, but of course now, it's time for the iPhone 16 Pro Max for the next year.

Insta, nah. Tusky, nope. Shonen Jump, not a chance.
Discord, which I have 2 factor authentication on...still logged in on my new device.

Files have transferred - now it's time to let all my apps re-install on my new phone. This...well, we'll see how long it takes.
And if any of my login data transferred over. I have a feeling...it will not. Meaning manually logging into all these apps again.
Oh well.

Photos are finally transferring over.
Maybe I should have saved a few fewer screenshots. We're at about 10K photos. That's after I already took off 25 GB worth of photos off that were family photos to back up on a 1 TB backup drive.
Phew.

Okay - it now says just over 2 hours to finish downloading / transferring.
Which...is a lot, but I'm trying not to jinx it by saying anything else.
Lots of files. Let's see if they move.

Got a new smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S24. I'm now using Samsung's proprietary app to transfer everything from one to the other.
Let's see how this turns out.

Tried a few other email apps, and K9 is feeling better relative to those. Might have to just live with the no-delete-from-server issue with POP3 .
Now, on to bookmarks juggling, contacts and yet more picture downloading.

Starting on a #newPhone migration, but doing it the hard way, hoping to drop a bit of cruft and clutter in the process.
The messy bits are the thousands of photos on the old phone, the contacts (keep them all or weed out the long-lost contacts?), and bookmarks (sort or just copy?).
Then the apps - I have many I don't use, but they still sound appealing.
Live tooting the process just for kicks.

I ordered my new phone today. I’m excited for it to show up the day after tomorrow. Happy it’ll be a lovely Samsung phone. I hope it doesn’t have Netflix forced onto me where I can’t uninstall it 😭😭😭😭😭 I really hate the kind of bloatware that you can’t uninstall-
