Zawsze mnie będzie fascynowało, że producenta (a może kupującego? Nie wiem, kto odpowiada za naklejki) pojazdu szynowego za kilka milionów nie stać na profesjonalne tłumaczenie.

Wyjaśnienie: angielska wersja mówi mniej-więcej, żeby nie "zamykać" drzwi na klucz/zamek, i reszta zdania też średnio gramatyczna.

Ah yes, when you're so used to making do with regional stock on your urban railway that when you finally get the opportunity to order a completely new fleet you… get more regional stock, complete with narrow aisles and steps between carriages. Despite already having higher platforms than on the mainline network.
Newag says this is the best they could do given the number of seats required. And that using classical bogies necessitated the steps, but "helps better adjust the floor to the platform level".
Myself, I'm not sure what I expected anymore. Enjoy the seats, I guess - they look like what we know from the Impuls 2s that already run here, those are pretty nice and comfortable (on reflection, isn't it crazy that in this country you often get nicer seats on regional trains than on InterCity these days?).
And maybe I shouldn't be throwing stones - it is a pretty long route.

Hot take: for critical infra, all firmware running on devices operated by public entities should be compiled and audited by these public entities.
Vendors should be required to supply source code and assist in compilation, flashing and verification; but the operator should have the means to introspect and verify any part of such deliveries independently.
Then this entire mess of a Polish train manufacturer never could have gone off the rails.

Ja wiem, że chcecie poczytać o drzwiach do toalet w pociągach.
No więc w kilku seriach pociągów znajdziemy automatyczne drzwi do toalety, z podświetlanym na zielono przyciskiem otwierania w "klamce" oraz dodatkowym przyciskiem blokowania drzwi wewnątrz. Nie poruszam tu tych jednostek, w których drzwi blokowane są ryglem.
Podświetlenie przycisku po zewnętrznej stronie drzwi działa wszędzie tak samo — przycisk jest podświetlony na zielono, jeżeli drzwi nie są zablokowane, a po zablokowaniu kontrolka gaśnie. Po wewnętrznej stronie jest inaczej. Tak więc:
1. W dolnośląekich Impulsach przycisk jest podświetlony na zielono, jeżeli drzwi nie są zablokowaniu. Po zablokowaniu kontrolka gaśnie.
2. W zachodniopomorskich Impulsach kontrolka zawsze świeci na zielono — zapewne sygnalizując, że od środka drzwi zawsze można otworzyć. Blokada sygnalizowana jest czerwonymi diodami dookoła przycisku blokady.
3. W turbokiblach KW kontrolka na klamce gaśnie po zamknięciu drzwi, a podświetlony zostaje przycisk blokady. Po zablokowaniu drzwi, przycisk blokady gaśnie, a przycisk otwierania zostaje podświetlony na zielono.
Żeby było zabawniej, w zachodniopomorskich Impulsach, przy przycisku blokady znajdziemy naklejoną instrukcję, która opisuje zachowanie właściwe dla… dolnośląekich Impulsów, czyli mylącą podróżnych.

#PKP Intercity claims #Newag EU160 (and EU200) deliveries will lead to the 160 km/h EP09 locos being replaced before the slower (and mostly older, I'm fairly sure) 125 km/h EP07s. As noted by Wikipedia (citing a rail magazine from two decades ago), Pafawag kind of developed the EP09 as they went, and each unit is basically unique in some way - and apparently this hasn't helped their reliability, they claim it's still effectively several sub-types of loco. On the other hand, their older wares, themselves descended from an English design, are apparently better, if not as good on availability as Newag's wares (for now, at least. I imagine they would wait to strike until PKPIC is basically completely dependant on them...). For now, the goal is to get the ordered hybrid Impulses delivered and DE and CZ certifications for the new locos so they can stop renting Vectrons (they've been making (more?) noises about Lepizig trains)

Also wartet: da hat der Zughersteller #Newag seine Züge so korrupt manipuliert, dass die Züge sinnlos Fehler konstruieren, wenn Konkurrenzunternehmen die Züge reparieren und weil talentierte Hacker diese Rootcause gefunden haben, korrigiert der Zughersteller nicht etwa sein korruptes Produkt, sondern verklagt die Leute, die zu einer Korrektur seiner miserablen Arbeit beitragen?
Ich hab selbst in der Fahrzeugqualität und Fehleranalyse gearbeitet und würde ich mich in Grund und Boden schämen.

Hackers were sued after making public how train manufacturer #newag manipulated their trains to prevent third-party repairs.
Legal fees are around 30,000€ by now.
The CCC is now calling for donations to cover the legal and other resulting costs incurred so far.

Remember the Polish train hackers? The guys who identified why trains being serviced by an independent, licensed train servicing center, "randomly" started failing? And identified the root cause, namely geofencing and/or time-related triggers?
They face charges by the original train manufacturer, who claims the violated copyright and other laws. A fascinating story of contradictory arguments. Enjoy!
