Sir Douglas Quintet, Live From Austin TX, 2006 on New West

Doug Sahm’s Sir Douglas Quintet recorded in 1981 but released in 2006 (on CD/DVD) / 2018 (vinyl) – live on Austin City Limits. (In 1981 that means the old Studio 6A at UT Austin, not the new Moody Theater).

This was part of a reunion tour after the quintet split up in the early 70s when Sahm put out his solo album.

My copy via a private sale is the 2018 three-sided LP version with one side etched, pressed by MPO.

Dear #NewWest. Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas are the whiniest, most dishonest councillors. They don't care about the city or its inhabitants, weaponize their rhetoric against the unhoused and other at-risk populations and block progress for petty reasons.
They suck.
