But if you're going to have a democracy, you've GOT TO have a powerful legal framework that balances the access we need against the rights & freedoms WE ONLY EXIST TO PROTECT; strong guardrails that sometimes make life ANNOYINGLY DIFFICULT for us; omnipresent oversight that gets in our shit to make sure we're not abusing the trust that 'We, the People' give us.
Right now, we've got VERY LITTLE of that--and a fascist-industrial complex taking a sledgehammer to what remains, every damn day. Organizations like the @aclu and the @eff have ALWAYS been important to hold our feet to the fire.
And with #LiteralNazis in the White House, that need has never been clearer. Because #NeverAgainIsNow.
