Remember, this isn't really ABOUT "immigration enforcement" at all.
It's ABOUT field-testing the ability of the government TO ARBITRARILY MURDER OR DISAPPEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS--under WHATEVER the pretext-du-jour might become--in a country that still thinks of itself as a free and just society, and "concentrate" them in "camps" for the #TurdReich's "final solution" to America's "democracy problem."

By which they mean INCREASED LETHALITY, of course. In the eyes of the #ICEtapo, three deaths in a month or two isnt even warming up the ovens. #TurdReich #NeverAgainIsNow

Look, I was a career INTELLIGENCE OFFICER. With an NSA background. Ordinarily, I'm ALL FOR mass surveillance. But if you're going to have a democracy, you've GOT TO have a powerful legal framework that balances the access we need against the rights & freedoms WE ONLY EXIST TO PROTECT; strong guardrails that sometimes make life ANNOYINGLY DIFFICULT for us; omnipresent oversight that gets in our shit to make sure we're not abusing the trust that 'We, the People' give us.
Right now, we've got VERY LITTLE of that--and a fascist-industrial complex taking a sledgehammer to what remains, every damn day. Organizations like the @aclu and the @eff have ALWAYS been important to hold our feet to the fire.
And with #LiteralNazis in the White House, that need has never been clearer. Because #NeverAgainIsNow.

So even for @NPR -- long the iconic newsroom of the American left -- Starmer's problems leading to these devastating losses were due to the UK's "surging antisemitism" (fair enough, I suppose, with the biggest BENEFICIARY of those losses being Britain's nazis!), with no mention AT ALL of his government's enthusiastic service as #GenocidesBodyguards for #IsraelAtWarCrimes, or its authoritarian crackdown ON HIS OWN CONSTITUENTS when they tried to protest it (echoes of #GenocideJoe's unforced errors on THIS side of the pond).
And speaking of which--learning no lessons whatsoever from the rise of AMERICA'S nazi party from its shallow grave--they're doggedly pretending Reform UK is merely politics as usual, and not THE SAME FASCIST ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY WE JUST FELL TO, just wrapped in a Union Jack, by describing it as simply "right wing populist" rather than the ghost of Britain's white nationalist colonial past.

Absolutely. And maybe WOMEN should stop going to college in states that are legislating away their rights, accepting jobs with companies that are based there, or marrying guys who want to LIVE there.
There are ALL SORTS of power--and as the courts and white, male supremacist legislatures keep chipping away at citizen power AT THE BALLOT BOX, it's time to (re-) discover more of them, and wield them like our lives depended on it.
Because in a very real sense THEY DO.
