  1. Not all of my drawings turn out well. In January I made one which I find downright gloomy.
That day it was grey and cold outside and I was in a rotten mood and stressed. I only made the drawing because I had some free time, my watercolor travels set was in my suitcase and I'm stubborn.
At least I learned something from it: Next time I'm in such kind of mood, I'd better do some #doodling or make #NeurographicArt
That will definitely improve my mood.

  4. I began to attempt my first #NeurographicArt drawing today, it is a rewarding exercise.

The #sculpture park stayed open for an after dark grounds tour. I needed a snowy hike, and the weather was mild.

#Cocoon is not only my new favorite valentines movie, it is vying for top ten #FavoriteMovie. Loved the first watch! #ThreeGoodThings #3GoodThings

  5. Untitled, 20240202. Coffee, ink, fineliner on paper. The start of one was a monoprint from the other. #mindfulart #NeurographicArt #MastoArt

  6. One of the hardest parts of maintaining my art practice is keeping up with it with I'm traveling. A lot of the mediums I work in are not ones that travel compactly, so I tend to use travel for doodling and neurographic art. I'm feeling antsy to get back home to my paint and to my gel plates.

  7. Noise and Violence 20231030. Sharpie and watercolour on mixed media paper. #NeurographicArt #firstattempt #MastoArt #wip ? Clarification/Edit: The picture is not a depiction of, but a positive reaction to, the negative idea described in the title.

  8. Fall Stained Glass Art

This stained glass fall design is in a neurographic style featuring fall leaves. Created for the Leaves contest in the Neurographic Art Group.

  9. It's been a high pain day, but my mental health has felt significantly better. It seems like a nerve is pinched near my left hip which has made moving around and sitting a bit uncomfortable, but I did manage to work on this one a little bit today.

I wanted to work on more, but my body is saying no more, so laying down and resting it is.

  10. I've been playing around a lot with watercolors and doodling lately, and watching a lot of YouTube videos of people who are doing the same.

I'm not in love with a lot of the experimentation at the moment, but I'm thinking of it more like a journey rather than fixating on a destination.

I expect this one will likely get torn up someday and be part of a collage, as it's on thinner paper than what's really good for watercolor.

  11. Another day, another #wip inching closer to completion.

A lot of emotions and energy tied up in this one, as I found myself considering perceptions of relationships and living situations I find myself in... Heavy work where words sometimes fail.

  12. I was going to post a wip picture of this one earlier, but I guess I got into it and finished it. 😂

One of the things that never ceases to surprise me about being an #artist with #ADHD is the cumulative result of doing things five minutes (or sometimes less) at a time.

I can spend all day absolutely trashing on myself internally for not working on something enough because I'm not spending hours at once on it.... but in the end, it doesn't matter. The cumulative effort is what matters.

  22. Hi. I'm Nikkiana.

I ask a lot of #questions so other people can find #answers to questions they don't know how to ask.

I have a background in #foss, #tech and #webdev, and I built my first website at age 13 in 1997. My expertise is in #css, #sass, and #frontendwebdev.

    I am a #mixedmedia #artist interested in #collage, #NeurographicArt, and #musicproduction

    I am particularly interested in the intersections of #art, #culture, #tech, #techliteracy, #music, #race, #mentalhealth, and #disability within #socialmedia.

I have two #cats named Izzy and Sally.

I read #tarot and #OracleCards. If you're interested in that, I use @[email protected] for that content.

Available and interested in projects, interviews, and conversation.

Tips are welcome and appreciated so I can afford to continue to share my expertise freely, especially to others who would not otherwise be able to afford it. If you'd like to do that, there's a link in my bio.
