#NeuralPlasticity & #learning are distinct but interrelated processes. #Plasticity denotes biological change in #NeuralSystems, while learning is its functional expression in #NetworkDynamics & #behavior. Learning arises from coordinated plastic processes, reshaping #NeuralStateSpace & #attractors to support stable yet flexible representations. Here's a new post on these concepts & their implications for #ComputationalNeuroscience:

🧠 New paper by Huang et al.: By using #pharmacological #fMRI and dynamic #connectome-based #PredictiveModeling, they show how #cortisol reshapes whole-brain #NetworkDynamics during emotional memory encoding. Trial-level analyses reveal distinct but increasingly integrated #arousal and #memory networks under #stress, supporting a hormonally driven "memory formation mode".

@StaceyCornelius I absolutely wouldn't rely on this research, or risking giving the impression that "only 3.5% will do". No, we need way more.
After reading A LOT of research on #tippingpoints & #socialchange, I trust Damon Centola's #networkdynamics research which set the threshold at 25%. Here is a very quick video, but I would recommend reading "How Behavior Spreads: The Science of Complex Contagions"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhY2y__43z8
PS: 25% #handsoff is well within reach.

My postdoc work at Isaac Bianco's lab is finally out on @eLife !
https://elifesciences.org/articles/78381Combining #lightsheet volumetric functional imaging and a spiking network simulation, we were able to show that a simple connectivity motif in the #zebrafish #optictectum explains multiple features in ongoing population dynamics, their impact on trial-to-trial variability, and trends in experience dependent behavior.
It is a neat example of how #networkdynamics can explain why neuronal and behavioural responses vary, or how past activity sets the ever-changing background for new input (that, in turn, will make its own long-lasting splash)

Sure! Original paper with CDC folks on the #networkdynamics of airborne contagion... http://orgnet.com/Transmission_Network_Analysis_CDC_OrgnetLLC.pdf
and the long blog post I wrote based on that paper after the arrival of Covid...

Short #introduction :
I'm a first year PhD student at #NetSI. Broadly interested in #ComplexSystems and #NetworkScience . Currently, I'm looking into #NetworkDynamics, #Emergence and #CollectiveBahavior from the perspective of #InformationTheory and #BayesianInference .Eventhough it's not my main area of expertise, I love to read and learn about #EvolutionaryBiology, #DevelopmentalBiology and #SystemsBiology .

Shalom, Salam, Aloha, and Hello. My name is Yiftach Yarmar, a husband, newly father and also a PhD candidate @ Yale SOM. My work focus on #inequality #gender #networkdynamics #careers and I’m very passionate about computational social science. Will be on the OB/Strategy market next year, so stay tuned #introduction
