Apparently it's rude now to end a sentences in messaging with a full stop? Sometimes called a period?

So, I've decided the best way around it is to end each sentence with a question mark?

That way it still sneaks in a full stop? Just under the curly bit?

Also? I'm Antipodean? And it's very Antipodean to end all sentences with rising voices? So that's really how we speak?

Do you know, what's not nice?

If you reply in a thread, to use special abbreviations, terms or references to events, books, films which are neither common knowledge nor are so closely related to the thread's topic that you can suppose everyone being on the same page, without explanation.

To me, this makes you look like a condescending dick, not like being funny, witty or smart.

Es gibt ja immer noch sehr viele Leute, die hier einfach irgendwelche Links posten - ohne Überschrift, ohne Kontext, teils völlig kryptische Buchstabenfolgen die noch nicht mal im Ansatz Hinweise auf das Linkziel oder das Thema geben.

Welche Erwartungshaltung besteht da? Ich jedenfalls werde niemals auf so einen Link klicken oder sowas teilen.

When people ask, explain in detail. No matter how obvious you think your statement was. People out there may honestly not know and you giving links to context helps not only them but also all other readers of your posts.

A reply said Brits got what they deserved & put in the hashtag block. Seems to be a request for others to block me for my post. Is this OK #Fediverse #nettiquette ? Never seen this malice before. Cheese stuck in customs will stink & my comment is clearly a frivolous take on a serious issue. The UK outside the #EU causes huge problems for me & my family & many. Blessed are the cheesemakers & makers of dairy produce in general. Remember the #48point11percent & that #Schadenfreude is not cricket.

Was genau wiederspricht bei folgenden Kommentar zu diesem Artikel den genau Eurer Netiquette liebe @RNZonline?

Vielleicht der nicht mehr zu sehende Hinweis an Euch das man die Kommentarfunktion die Ihr unterhalb fünf großer bebilderten Anrissen zu anderen RNZ Artikeln verschoben habt kaum noch findet?

Mal wieder Zensur bei der Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung

Leider passiert es recht häufig das die @RNZonline bei ihren Kommentaren, bei denen eh nur Abonnenten mitschreiben dürfen, den Zensurknüppel heraus holt. Ich schreibe deshalb nur ab und an etwas darüber da ich sonst einfach zu viele Beiträge in die Richtung hätte. Doch dieser Fall schien mir doch wieder ziemlich krass, besonders wegen des Verweis auf die Nettiquette der RNZ.

Mal was zur Diskussion zur #Nettiquette im #Fediversum:

Da fordert eine Person CWs (Warnungen) für *alle* Politik-bezogenen Posts, verbittet sich Antworten, bittet aber um Boosts.

Meine Position dazu:

1. Ich werde auf Weiteres keine politischen Themen mit CWs versehen. Sollte ich den Eindruck haben, dass bei Menschen tatsächlich traumatische Gefühle dadurch entstehen, werde ich das sicher ändern.

Dass jemand "Kein Bock auf sowas" hat, ist für mich kein Grund für eine Triggerwarnung.

A long, long time ago, when people exchanged usenet posts with weird dial-up connections (SLIPPP or Trumpet Winsock, anyone? ;) We had some fundamental rules on how to treat other people online — #rfc1855, also known as the #nettiquette [1]. Not that people followed them. That’s why rules typically are written. To document unwanted behaviour :). Maybe it’s time to collectively try to define the #fediquette?
