I feel like I've pitched this before but maybe in some different way. I still think recognizing folks for their achievements is important in the #ccmusic community.

I also still think expanding @netlabelday is the best way to do it, whatever that ends up looking like.

Would anyone be interested in helping make this a reality? If we can get some guidelines together before May 9 perhaps we could vote during the #netlabelassembly.

I am busy July 18 & 25, which means I cannot do the Netlabel Assembly and the Curator Assembly in close succession. I had hoped to do these July 18 and 19. I could do the #Netlabel Assembly July 26, and if we think that is better, we can still can, but I know Europeans don't like to be bothered during the summer. Different #Netlabels are - in a variety of different ways - already meeting or at least trying to meet these needs. Additionally, @wiloma has taken the step to include Netlabel-of-one musicians in #Netlabelday

As such, @friendsofccmusic is going to use the federation that already exists and focus exclusively on #podcasters & netlabels. There is, of course, plenty of overlap. @tmray for example is a musician and a podcaster. The orgs mission will be on the podcaster and netlabel side though.

One of the things we have long struggled with is trying to do what is best for a diverse constituency of #netlabels, #musicians, #podcasters, and #ccmusic enthusiasts.

Theoretically, could be music releases but also could be things such as #Jamendo or #netlabels. Would anyone be interested?

Most of the time any #netnativemusic is (#publicdomain etc) is allowed but since this is a CC Anniversary let's keep it to stuff with a CC license (or maybe something with a clear CC Public Domain mark)

Aside from #netlabelday is there any org where #netlabels come together? I dont think there is. There are a few scene resources like Netlabel Archive but I dont think anyone is coming together.

Is this just because people that run netlabels have no time?

Is it because things are too globally distributed? Organizations like the CNCF get around this by having events in different locations.

Is it a language thing?

Are people just not interested?
