I finished watching Dark and now I'm watching 1899 even though Netflix is a dumb binch and cancelled it. Dark was good, I liked it :blobfoxfloofhappy: I think the story was decent but the vibes in particular were immaculate, and 1899 seems similar with even better vibes. :ablobfoxbongo:
Also, pls keep dressing Andreas Pietschmann in all the late 1800's garb cuz omfg he's such a 19th century beefcake :blobfoxsweating:

After watching this clip about 1899, Dark, Mandalorian, and IL&M, it is sad to hear that #netflix1899 S2 was just canceled.

tbh I thought #Netflix1899 was a bit "meh" but I still can't understand #Netflix cancelling it. It suggests a fundamental flakiness in their commissioning and production policy which makes me wonder if this really is the beginning of the end for them. At the moment I'm hanging onto my Netflix subscription by my fingernails.

Just finished 1899. Holding judgements yet.. except the map.
In the first episode, we are given co-ordinates for the Promethius and shown a map (#Nfld makes an appearance!), The Kerberos 130nm north of the Promethius, which tracks 7.25 hrs at 18 knots).
Just past the Milne seamounts and south of the Flemish cap. Land is ~500km away, whereas to turn back is ~3350km. So towing the boat back doesn't work out?

Going to rewatch 1899 with the original audio, rather than the dub.
The dub was not great, and I'm usually quite impressed by Netflix's dub work. But also, it was clear that a lot of nuance was lost, not least of all, where characters were from! Why didn't they hire VAs from those nations, to at least have some accents to go by. Accents are good! Variety in all ways is good!

Three episodes in on #Netflix1899 and we know less about what's going on than we did at the start of the episode. I totally here for this. After Dark I know Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar can pull this off. They've earned that.

@TitsLeroux after #dark I have such high hopes for #netflix1899. I know it's unlikely to be as good, just because dark is one of my fave ever shows, but hopefully it'll come close.
