  1. Good news - The sanctions against Albanese for highlighting the #NetanyahuAdministration #EthnicCleansing and #LandTheft in #Gaza and the #WestBank were an appalling abuse of power by #MarcoRubio and the #47Adminstration.

  5. It's good to see the disgust at the #NetanyahuAdministration's crimes against humanity is starting to penetrate the mythology of a strong allie defending itself and the large donations from #AIPAC

  6. @Tofu_Golem

When did "never again" morph to "let's do it to them"?

Murderous religious bigots and racists hide in all religions.

The #NetanyahuAdministration is a prime example. Not "Jews", not Israel, but a greed disguised as nationalism and religion.

  7. @wdlindsy
I have a hard time seeing criticism of the #NetanyahuAdministration - the ethnic cleansing, the indiscriminate killing of Palestinians and Lebanese , the theft of West Bank land from Palestinians - as anti-Semitic.

Religious beliefs and ethno-nationalism do not justify the callous abuse of others.

  8. Why the US - both Democrats and Republicans - refuse to take action to stop the criminal abuses of the #NetanyahuAdministration is beyond me. These are crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, murder, theft.

  9. And yes, the US Congress, with many #Democrats voting in favor, continues to send weapons to Israel. Why?

“If they recycle the Israeli bombs that didn’t explode there is an endless supply of explosives, and the genocide provides an infinite recruiting pool for new members.”

"American intelligence estimates suggest Hamas has recruited 15,000 operatives during the war, about twice as many as Israel has killed."

Nothing like a policy that generates more people supporting violence - especially since both the impacts and memories of wrongs can last for generations

  10. The Senate, with the assistance of #SenAdamSchiff and #SenAlexPadilla, voted to continue selling bombs to the #NetanyahuAdministration so they can continue murdering #Palestinians in many different ways.

There's now a House resolution - H.R.3565, the Block the Bombs Act - that's been introduced with numerous cosponsors. Please write to your Congressperson urging them to cosponsor H.R.3565, the Block the Bombs Act., It's easy with the form at the action network link: actionnetwork.org/letters/bloc

  11. "Israel controls the flow of food into Gaza. It has calculated how many calories Palestinians need to stay alive. Its data shows only a fraction has been allowed in"

' “The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger,” a senior adviser to the then prime minister, Ehud Olmert, said in 2006. An Israeli court ordered the release of documents showing the details of those macabre sums two years later.'

And how many Democratic senators voted to provide bombs to the government that uses starvation as an intentional policy? Why are my Senators, #Schiff and #Padilla, among those supporting acts to provide the #NetanyahuAdministration with the weapons to support these policies?

  12. I can't help but wonder if the real anti-Semites aren't the #NetanyahuAdministration & those who conflate criticism of the Netanyahu Administration's horrific acts in Gaza and the West Bank with antisemitism. It is the acts of Netanyahu and his ilk that cast Judaism in a bad light, as they hide behind a Jewish identity to justify the unjustifiable. Hiding evil behind a Jewish identity harms all Jews.

The horrors inflicted on #Palestinians in Gaza, & the murders, beatings and land theft by West Bank Settlers with #IDF support make it all too easy for people to justify attacks on Jews, assuming all Jews support Israel without question. A bad, unjust, immoral assumption - but unfortunately a trap too many fall into.

And we have 2 recent articles highlighting this issue. The first makes it clear that the Netanyahu Administration's evils are not supported by all, or even most, Jews, while the second shows how people fail to understand that:

  13. @TonyStark
Sorry, but that strikes me as absolving the Democratic "leaders" who created the conditions that led to support for Trump.

No, it was not D support for pro- choice, and not D support for LGBTQ+ rights.

It was Ds ignoring the problems created by focusing on GDP as the sole consideration of economic success, ignoring the bread and butter concerns of working America.

It was Ds not meeting with people and listening to their concerns, and actually engaging in discussions to address those concerns.

It was Ds doubling down on support for the #NetanyahuAdministration's actions in Gaza and West Bank, ignoring the coalition ministers calling for ethnic cleansing.

Those are the reasons I went to the voting booth to vote against a greater evil, not to support a party that betrayed the vision that FDR created for my parents, and that I was raised with.

  14. I find it hard to read the stories on what is being done to the Palestinians. For those who claim the #NetanyahuAdministration is not actively pursuing genocidal ambitions, please consider this from deputy parliament speaker Nissim Vaturi:

“We need to separate the children and women and kill the adults in Gaza. We are being too considerate,” Vaturi said. “We will soon turn Jenin [in the West Bank] into Gaza,” he added.

How is that not a clear statement of intent?

  15. Gee, why would the #IDF spokesperson tell an untruth? Doesn't the history of IDF actions in #Gaza and the #WestBank show how careful they are not to harm noncombatants? /s [for those who might not have followed the IDF snipers killing children, the persons in IDF uniforms supporting settlers attacking Palestinians in the West Bank, the entire Gaza campaign as waged by the IDF and the #NetanyahuAdministration, and the statements about getting Palestinians out of Gaza made by members of the Netanyahu Administration (clear calls for #EthnicCleansing)]

  16. The implicit US support for the #NetanyahuAdministration and IDF war crimes apparently continues unabated.

Maybe we'll hear something meaningful from the #Democrats this time. Sadly, I doubt it.

It seems we really don't need the #OrangeToddler to blot the US copybook. The political leadership in both parties is more than happy to tolerate these #atrocities.

  17. I was curious if the #DNC had any positions!on international issues, such as the crisis in Gaza/West Bank. Took a look at their website:
    democrats.org/where-we-stand/i

I'm horrified at their silence over the #NetanyahuAdministration's support of #LandTheft and #SettlerViolence in the West Bank, and the indiscriminate slaughter in #Gaza, killing innocent Palestinians to put pressure on Hamas.

How can I support a party that tacitly supports such horrific acts?

  18. CW: Palestine Abuse

The abusive behavior supported and encouraged by the #NetanyahuAdministration continues to appall.

Even more disturbing is the complicit silence from so many of the congressional #democrats .

(I don't expect better from today's #GOP, who clearly admire pointless brutality.)

  19. Must be wonderful to be able to worry about your daughter being scared by words, and not worry about how your words contribute to the bombings of schools, homes , .. by #Putin's acolytes. By the #NetanyahuAdministration

How many children have to die for that to be as awful as #Vance's child being scared by words?

    mastodon.social/@CdnCurmudgeon

(And see very good questions in the thread about where his security detail was when he and his daughter had this dreadful experience)

  20. @GottaLaff
But because the #NetanyahuAdministration is a duly elected government and offers #TheOrangeCuntGrabber real estate opportunities, they are not terrorists or committing #WarCrimes

    Something is very wrong.

  21. @aram
I have consciously avoided using it, preferring to focus critiques on the #NetanyahuAdministration's actions in the Gaza and the West Bank. (And that's not to ignore or downplay the Oct Hamas atrocity.)

  22. @SmudgeTheInsultCat

A little distressing to see the Old Testament advocating genocide.

So of course the #NetanyahuAdministration has Biblical justification for Gaza and Lebanon & West Bank.

    Terrifying

  23. @harriettmb the more I read about #Netanyahu's comments the more the Albigensian Crusade strategies come to mind.

"Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius." (Kill them all. The Lord knows his own).

The #NetanyahuAdministration seems to be perfectly content with slaughtering all Palestinians just to get rid of Hamas.

  24. @QasimRashid

    A pointless bill, absolutely.

Yet I'm a bit confused by the claim that it prohibits criticism over Israel. It specifically calls out the IHRA definition ( link below), including examples, which includes "
However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic. "

And if we can't criticize the actions of the #NetanyahuAdministration and the West Bank settlers without references to their religion, then maybe we need to rethink our critical thinking skills.

  25. Rejects, does he? Should one credit the Secretary's assertion? Personally, I think the #NetanyahuAdministration has established more than enough "facts on the ground" (in the ground? - given credible reports of mass graves) that the Secretary might reconsider his claim.

  26. @knittingknots2 and I can't help but believe this is intentional on the part of Iran's leadership. They need oppression of Palestinians to maintain their role as essential allies.

And of course the #NetanyahuAdministration needs Israelies threatened to stay in power.

    Are #SynergisticParasites a thing?

  27. Please, read the MSF blog post linked to in @timbray 's post. Wherever you are, whatever country, you need to let your elected officials know that THEY need to read it and address the issues #MSF raises.

Israel is not defending itself anymore; Israel is not going after the perpetrators of October 7. The #NetanyahuAdministration is targeting all Palestinians and anyone providing aid to them.

  28. @TheEmpororHasNoClothes @andytiedye @wdlindsy
Kid, you might be surprised at
    a) the number of Jews who are US citizens and are appalled at what the #NetanyahuAdministration is doing
    b) the number of non-Jewish US citizens who support Israel no matter what atrocities the government causes. (Esp on the Christian right)

  29. Senator Schumer's comments on Israel & Gaza were spot on, in my opinion. And I've just signed the #JStreet letter/petition thNking the Majority Leader for his clear statement calling out both the #NetanyahuAdministration & Hamas for their abhorrent actions.

I encourage you to sign as well, and maybe even contribute a bit to J Street if you can. J Street has long been a constructive voice in Washington with respect to Israel and Palestine.

    act.jstreet.org/sign/thank-you

  30. I urge you to sign the @PDAmerica petition urging the Democrats to stop accepting money from #AIPAC. That lobbying group's behavior is enabling the unacceptable actions of the #Netanyahu administration and their efforts to displace #Palestinians from the West Bank and #Gaza. The #NetanyahuAdministration actions are ethnic cleansing in process.
