the state of #internet: during last two months #bots hit my boring website 1.6M times from 1618 unique IP addresses and in effect downloaded 2.2GB of data (randomly generate text) generating 1-3% of CPU usage.
Note, I'm only reporting traffic ignoring `robots.txt`.

I'm so very glad my neglect over the winter didn't kill her. She's beautiful in her weirdness.

An immature carnivorous trap on a Nepenthes x Rebecca soper.
As it matures it will turn dark burgundy and the lid will open. The rim of the trap, and the leaves will secrete a kind of nectar to attract insects for dinner.

Been looking at two #aipoison tools: #Iocaine (https://iocaine.madhouse-project.org) and #Nepenthes (https://zadzmo.org/code/nepenthes/). Both are interesting, but impractical for a modest static site on a shared hosting. But I’m thinking of an idea: if these AI bots are reading my site, even when I’m telling them to stay away, maybe I can force them to read a little manifesto… 🤔

I'm packaging my first #app for @yunohost
I've been running https://zadzmo.org/code/nepenthes/ for over a year through #docker, but having it running natively will have some benefits for myself and will make it very easy for other users to deploy.
It's quite tedious, but learning a lot in the process!
